Alone In A Strange Place(AIASP) Writing Contest.

<<  1    2    3    4  >>

Topic started on 12-2-2008 @ 12:43 PM by intrepid

We got some good ideas for a new comp. This one seemed to be the best. It doesn't have to be another planet. It could be on Earth, any time period. The topic is pretty obvious, a sole person in a new, unviolated environment.

Please add (AIASP) to your thread title.

First Place: 15,000 ATS points
Second Place: 10,000 ATS points
Third Place: 7,000 ATS points

Popular Vote: 5,000 ATS points
(*Entry with the most stars)So vote for your favorite entry.

Entries have to be in by March 21, 2008.

Have fun guys. This is my first crack at this so if clarity is needed, just post here.

Thanks for the new contest Intrepid.....

However, we have a writing contest that was never judged....the holiday poem contest. Perhaps Worldwatcher just got too busy?

No worries.....

Regards,

I've been here on ATS years ago and left but I'm back again to some different rules. I have one question, do we post the story right here in this thread? Thanks in advance.

You start a thread for your story in the short story forum with (AIASP) in the title. Have a look down the page in the short story forum and you should see a few story's from older contests with different (...........) titles like (MYST)...(SSSC)..etc.

Hope that helps.

No word or character count. Stories breathe. You never know what it will take to get where the story will take you. That being said you might need more than one post to complete it as the site does have a post limit. So please indicate if you need another post, or add "Fin" to your story so that members can then comment.

We've got a lot of writers here. 3 stories/member for the comp. That doesn't mean that you can't write more for public consumption. It's just that judges will have PLENTY to read. This will be judged by others than me. That wouldn't be fair. Say, I'm into Sci-Fi, that speaks to me. I could be biased by a certain story. Not fair. That also being said, if you want to participate as a judge, let me know via u2u. You can't contribute a story though, again, that wouldn't be fair.

Could you please clarify "unviolated" environment? Does that mean "I am the last person in the world after the world has been destroyed" stories are out?

Thanks in advance.

It's fiction, I can hardly see how RL could be entered in this but if you have experienced something like this, post away man.

Sorry I'm a little confused. Where do I post my story? Do I post it here as a reply to this area. Or is there a different place to send it.
Thanks
