Maybe I just have a better imagination that you.

I was talking to this girl the other day. I like her. We were at the bar and she asked me how old I was. I didn't tell her, fearing it would scare her away. She told me the oldest she ever dated was 29. I'm 35 and she's 21. So I don't know if I should be honest with her, because then she'd think i'm too old, but I think she's really smart and kinda cute.

Jedi..she is too young. And you need to always be honest.A relationship should never start out with lies.
In my opinion..you should look for women 27-40 range.A 21 year old, is not looking for a long term serious relationship.

Hi AD, well she said it like this. "I don't like guys my age because they are players and I want a serious boyfriend". She told me that she thinks most young guys are silly and don't take stuff seriously, and that older man kinda take things more seriously. I was afraid to tell her I was 35. I guess I didn't want to turn her down like that. I suppose it wouldn't work like that, but do you think it's still ok to be friends and go out to the movies and such?

Well I have to agree with her there.Younger men ARE players. But you should never be afraid to tell anyone your real age.If you think she is going to be scared off by that, then that is the sign she is too young for you.
As for hanging out, well, nothing wrong with having friends, but how many of her friends are early 20's and how many are mid 30's? I still say you need to up your age range. How involved are her parents in her life? I doubt they would approve.
Just my 2 pennies.

True, I haven't met her parents. And to be honest i'm afraid of meeting them. I mean, we are just friends. i'm not afraid of telling her my real age, I just don't get why everyone wants to know your age. Every girl I meet at the bar asks the same 3 questions. 1. how old are you. 2. where do you work. 3. Are you married/kids. After a while you don't want to answer, you feel like being interrogated all the time.

For now, we just go to the bar, she works there as a waitress. I get her some wine and we talk about movies. I want to get her in my student film (not porn). She's the right actress I need for that movie.

Jedi, the three basic questions are asked upfront for a reason.
A screening process if you will.
If they don't like the answers there is no point in moving on.
So you are afraid to tell her your age, and meet her parents?
Two red flags.
Ever thought of dating a woman where her parents were not an issue?

Yeah, Guess you could say I have "Parent Issues". feel that they ask too many questions as well. And you know the situation with my mom and all, I guess I have a fear of parents. but you are right, you make so much sense sometimes. I know I have to change, I just fear change. thanks AD for all the advice!

Jedi..change is constant. Whether you are aware of it or not.
And you have a choice to change for the better.I'm sure when you do,happiness will follow.

indeed. So I should be honest with every new girl I meet. Not that i'm some sort of player or anything, but I do go to the bar every week and meet different girls, dance and drink. etc. Should I be honest with them too or just the people who are really close to me? I like to keep it mysterious sometimes with new people you know what I mean? like not give all my personal information away on the first date. Do you think that's ok?

OK I understand wanting to be guarded about personal info. But giving your age is not really that personal. You have to be upfront with people.

Tell her your age then show her your toys..
She'll either bring her Barbies too or run away screaming..
That way she get to choose..:bash:

That's a no no man. Whenever I meet a girl I never tell her about my star wars obsession! she will immediately say, "Oh you like Star Trek?" then she will laugh and walk away.

lol. I know man. Seriously, it's really hard to find a girl with my own interests. if they seen my collection they'd think I was nuts. I think that's why I like younger girls too. Older girls would consider my star wars obsession a problem, while some young chicks would think it's retro cool.

Hey, if you recall, Anakin's the one that actually takes down the evil Sith Emperor, not Luke
