Trying to find the posts I made the other day, as that is how I track which threads contributed to. Seems my posts page has been blanked out, is it
just me or is actually cleared out?

I am w/you on this ADVISOR. Apparently this is new policy which inhibits research. Doesn't look to be written in stone yet, but I would beware...

I use the same method to continue discussion. But it's harder when I can't see which threads I posted in, as you may know.
Hmm...

So what is really going on?
I would like to see an explanation.
Skyfloating was really good at researching archives and such, maybe he could add something to this thread.

Explaination for what? SkepticOverlord told what happened right in the thread that was linked.

Someone recently was "over-using" the posts buttons in profiles, I have no idea why. But since the current structure of that query is somewhat
involved, it was introducing an unusual strain on the database server to deliver several member post lists a minute.
If you need to see your subscribed threads, all you need to do is click on the myATS button.
And you can still see your threads from your profile page.
The [posts] function will be re-coded and return in the near future... but for now, it's disabled.
I don't know why people are going crazy over this.

I apologize for not completely reading the linked thread, therefore seeing the explanation.
I for one am not what you would call "going crazy" over it, I just enjoyed the feature and wondered what happened to it.

The problem with myats is that it doesn't track every post you make. If you author a thread through the news section it doesn't show up.
If you decide 'hey that thread isn't important' and click X its gone. I would still like to be able to track some threads I've posted in.
However, I'm not worried as it is being fixed.
There are some great coders here at ATS and things should go back to 'normal' fairly soon.

OH, in answer to your question "Explanation for what"
Expanation as to how you can over use a common feature.
Is researching the posts of other members considered overuse?
If so why were we given the feature in the first place.
Now I had better let this go before I make enemies I would rather not make.

Well, the other missing posts thread was closed.
Tech types alienate people, I used to work with one.
My question is, how far away is the "near future"? I know if I used that answer for my clients I would be dead meat.
As far as finding the posts for a member, I have found a way, but I will not list it here because it too will be disabled, just as the option was.
So, since we can still use your site to find posts by other members, then what is the reason to withhold the tool?

Matyas,
Skeptic mentioned a tax on the database and server. The option wasn't disabled because its not allowed, but because it caused too much problems with
the forum.

I have no truck w/you bs, truly said problems with the forum are not allowed. My sys is taxed every time I come here, its called work. Can't be
avoided if you want performance.
Its politics, you know it, I know it, we all know it, so lets not kid ourselves. We'll just have to sit here in the dark until something else gives
for us to get a clearer picture.

My ATS only holds so many entries before they fall off. Same with flagging threads, the new ones dump the ones at the bottom.
I think the fact that this isn't being addressed as a serious matter insinuates that time is being bought for some reason or another.
Is the goal to lose the serious members and be mainstream teenaged market gain?
I really seems that our needs and questions are being danced around and it has been going on for almost a month now.
