I am looking for the truth, and there is no truth in the title of this thread. And there is no truth in the editorialisation being offered.

I think he understands he can't win, but he feels he must continue to proclaim the truth while he still has this extraordinary oppourtunity, the ability to reach the american citizen.

Well, Joseph Lieberman did the same thing in the '00 election, campaigning to keep both his Senate seat and win the vice presidency, with the idea of giving up the senate seat if he made the white house with Gore. Even then it was seen as Lieberman having zero confidence in his ticket's ability to win the white house.

Your post is not cool bro.
You seriously need to fix that misquote and make it right.

I don't care what you are trying to say MAY happen but the part you cut from the source does not match what you posted and its quite misleading. LAME!

The title of this thread is misleading and wrong. The OP is a super moderator so it's hard to believe that he's leaving the title up as an accident.
Are we to assume then, dbates, that you are intentionally trying to mislead the ATS members?

That is exactly what the E-Mail I received from Ron Paul states. I am still backing him to the bitter end.

Yo, Supermoderator!

You misunderstood whatever you read to get your information.

Ron Paul hasn't "given up" ANYTHING.

Let's get that straight. He just doesn't want to lose his seat in Congress.

By the way, get over yourself, dude!

Here's the view from the Associated Press:

Paul Vows to Remain a Republican in Race

If you feel the title of this thread is misleading, which I do, please feel free to hit the alert button at the bottom of the opening post and voice your concerns, no one, not even a Super Mod are above TACs, which plainly state for the "Breaking News forum:

Headline: Please use the original story headline from your source. If the headline is biased or otherwise inapporpriate, provide a descriptive headline that is accurate and reflects the article you're submitting. Submissions with inaccurate, biased or otherwise deceptive headlines may be removed.

The title to this thread is inaccurate and should be changed to reflect the TRUTH!

I supposed most of you do not speak politicalspeak, or you think Ron Paul is above using it himself.

But with so many primaries and caucuses now over, we do not now need so big a national campaign staff, and so I am making it leaner and tighter.

I am giving up on a national campaign.

If I were to lose the primary for my congressional seat, all our opponents would react with glee, and pretend it was a rejection of our ideas. I cannot and will not let that happen.

To make sure I can keep my day job.

If Ron Paul were serious he would have taken all that money he has and run third party. If he really wanted his ideas to shine. If he wanted us to have a real choice.
I have learned my lesson with this candidate. Next time I want to donate to the revolution it will be via buying ammo.

I agree that this thread is falsely titled and the title either needs to be amended or the thread moved to the trash.

He does not say he is giving up. He clearly states he will continue on.

Yes dbates... please review this thread.

Headline: Please use the original story headline from your source. If the headline is biased or otherwise inappropriate, provide a descriptive headline that is accurate and reflects the article you're submitting. Submissions with inaccurate, biased or otherwise deceptive headlines may be removed.

I think Ron Paul knows running third party would split the GOP vote and hand the election to the socialists. As long as the they don't try to bounce him from the convention, he still carries significant clout in this fight.

He is speaking politically. What he is saying is that he will be giving up nationally, not withdrawing, but allowing whatever primaries he is involved with to leave him on the ballot. He is not withdrawing, but he is not 'continuing on' anywhere but Texas. His "continuing on" is politicalspeak, for not continuing on.

At least Kucinich had the guts to admit that he needed to give up to keep his seat in Congress. Unless you are one of Ron Paul's direct constituents in Texas he has "given up" on you.

Well I can't tell you how appreciative I am that you pulled your trusty double-speak translator out and put the true words in his mouth for him.

Don't know what we would do without you maynards. Fact is, the thread title was false. You can speculate all you want, but the title was declarative. Seems to be fixed now.

I agree as well.

And Dbates, you are a Christian, you should not be ignoring this you should be fixing your mistake so as not to make it look like you tell LIES to the people on ATS you preach to. Set a good example, remove the log from your eye.

To think I believed this without clicking the link because I trusted the reputation of the thread author.

You are BY FAR the COOLEST Super Moderator I've ever seen.

But you'd better change your HEADLINE AGAIN, to reflect the FACTS.

You APPEAR to be UNAMERICAN, considering the amount of money, time, and effort, I've expended to get the cause of Dr. Ron Paul, the only non-politician, with NO political favors owed, running for President of the good ole US of A.

I beg you to change your mis-leading title once more, to something FACTUAL, like "Ron Paul is the ONLY Candidate that will ACTUALLY CHANGE the course of AMERICA!"

I really don't understand what's happening here, and why it's allowed for a super moderator to blatantly skew the facts.

Please, Springer, Valhall, Skeptic Overlord, reprimand the cool guy!

Bawling Indian!!!!

I can't reprimand anyone, indian.

I'm the one that GETS reprimanded.

The thread title has been changed if you didn't notice. And it is now clearly an interpretation rather than a declarative statement.

Come on, Valhall, we KNOW who wears the pants in the family!!!

Just say something like, "And if you want to keep working on the site, you'd BETTER make sure your supermoderators get the facts right. And take out the trash, too."

Thanks for amending the title Springer!

Let's see how Ron Paul's determination to project his and his supporter's ideals gets played in the MSM when he refuses to drop out of the race, despite the fact the deck has been unfairly and criminally stacked against him since the outset of the "campaign."

Aaahhh the new title makes me feel so much better...

At least the old thread title wasnt a blatant mockery of Ron Paul supporters.

According to the T&C this thread should be moved out of Breaking Alternative News into the Above Politics ghost town (as my posts so often get moved to) since technically it is opinion based on a candidates update and not an article, the title is also obviously not the title of the announcement on Dr. Pauls website, if the AP article (that Goos linked to)had been posted with the correct title then the article would have been Breaking News (but still not a conspiracy more political as I have been told by so many mods who have moved threads that I started dealing with politics or economy)

But whatever....
