I think that the former is much more likely. The PTB haven't done a 'big plan' assassination attempt since JFK and for the very good reason that
way too many people see right through it. They seem to have gotten the mind control method down quite well, as evidenced by the college shootings
going on.
Probably Hillary will be vice-president, Obama will be forced by the establishment to nominate her, just like Reagan was with Bush Sr.
I still think that the super delegates will insure Hillary the nomination, but if Obama should happen to get nominated, then I'll be amazed if he
lives much past the inauguration.

Let me post this AGAIN for the ignorant people that keep stumbling into this thread posting the same lie: First off, Muslim does not equal terrorist.
Secondly, that is irrelevant anyway because Barack Obama is most definitely NOT a Muslim. He is a Christian and is quite religious. Read his books.
The "islamic academy" nonsense in the post I quoted is a complete LIE. While he was a small child, his Mother remarried a man who lived and worked
in Indonesia, where the population is predominately Muslim. During the 4-5 years that he lived there he attended both a Catholic school and a school
where the majority of the students were Muslim. It was NOT a "Islamic academy." He wrote in his bestseller "The Audacity of Hope" that his Mother
put him in the best school that was available to them at the time.
I am not necessarily an Obama supporter. I was a huge Kucinich backer myself. But I don't let emotion about my candidate cloud my judgment.
You shouldn't keep spreading lies you read in a chain e-mail or heard from the screaming idiots on the radio. Read a book once in a while. Use
reason.

Thanks for your effort to educate Flashback.
IMO, if Obama gets past the super-delegate wild card, there is a high risk he could be assassinated. If it does happen, I don't think it won't be
about race or religion, but about his views on rights and the constitution as expressed in this answer to warrantless wiretapping, not to mention his
views on Iraq, foreign policy, and other things.

I have no doubt that the next president will be assassinated. Obama, DOES have a higher risk of being assassinated. Personally, I think that is why
Kerry is kissing up to him so much. He wants that VP spot for when it happens. I think McCain runs the least risk of being assassinated, because of
his age, and health. Add the stress of presidency to that and he wont last past his first term.
There are too many big differences. Too many people who think they can do better. Too many people who are more than willing to push things as far as
they need to in order to get their way.

I have a strange feeling that he would be assassinated if he got in there. look at what happened to King, I dont think we need a Black amn in there
because to many people are prejudice still and its just pushing it a bit to far. I have a bad feeling if he gets in there it will be a death sentence.
Of course I would rather have him in there any day over Hillary but still, neither one seems right.

Here's an update:
Many blacks worry about Obama's safety
NEW YORK - For many black Americans, it's a conversation they find hard to avoid, revisiting old fears in the light of bright new hopes.
For many older blacks, the barometer for gauging hopes and fears is the 1968 assassination of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
But concern about Obama's safety transcends racial lines. He has white supporters who see him as an inspiring, youthful advocate of change in the
mold of Robert F. Kennedy, and they are mindful of Kennedy's assassination just two months after King's.
If it seems that this is becoming a high profile issue, then it is more likely that he won't be assassinated.
Just my $ 02.

Yes I also am concerned about this possibility for a slightly different reason.
Remember the Hegelian dialectic thesis antithesis synthesis
So if you were an elitist you have been making good money with the war machine, oil, and financial scams. But you have got a problem the unwashed
masses grow tired of your shenanigans and want real change.
So you offer a solution>>>> Senator Obama
Only to see President Obama murdered....
Race riots and general instability ensue on the domestic front and creates an overwhelming desire for "stability" in the masses. A "conservative"
is offered well really demanded by the public.
Could go so far as fascist strongman leader and martial law but I don't think there will be a need.
My black friends have said it is almost painful to support Obama because of this fear. But I have seen Obama inspire hope beyond the fear in the
black community. If this hope is violently extinguished I wonder and fear what the reaction of the black community will be???
Could this be the plan??? That game is as old as humanity>>> play one against the other.
Could that have been the plan with the Kennedys, MLK. I can remember when these people were killed..a little of my spirit and hope died with them.
Took the shine right off the movement. Created a terrible paranoia in all communities. It is very difficult to create coalitions with the fear level
that high.

I believe what killed me on Obama was when his wife said she was finally proud of the USA, and that it was the first time in her life she had ever
been proud of the US. What? does that mean that just because her husband is in the front runnings that she is proud of the US? That is a bit bad if
you ask me. It also may be a reason for many to be ticked off at Obama and maybe try to assassinate him. Believe me this country is made up of proud
Americans and when someone goes in as a president and the first lady talks like the US was trash before he got in, there will be Hell to pay. Believe
me there are not many US citizens that will put up with someone like that very long.
When it comes down to it, I personally would rather see Obama in there then Hillary any day. But if it came right down to me having to pick either
one, I wouldnt pick at all. And I also have heard alot of people right here in NC saying that as well.

The Republicans put all of the last pieces in place to geive the President absolute powers of a dictator, should the architects of the NWO deem such a
move necessary. It may become necessary, when the Democrats turn the US into the middle state of the North American Union. Watching the debate the
other night almost had me voting for McInsain.

hildar, very good point, as always...
I don't remember michelle's exact quote, I know that some 'news sources' managed to distort it.
But in context, doesn't it sound as if she, a Black Woman, is simply pointing out, maybe inelegantly, that the USA has been a bastion of old, white
MEN since its inception???
I could be wrong here, just wanted to add another viewpoint...
OK, just an amendment...
JFK wasn't THAT old, but nevertheless he was a product of an 'establishment'...and, he was 'white'...

But if she was implying that wouldnt that be a bit prejudice and racist? I mean if she was meaning that because there were all old white men. ok so at
least all white. But that would be a bit racist and prejudice and that isnt needed either in the white house. Either way she pretty much turned all
proud Americans against her and her hubby. And if she meant it in a prejudice way then that really would make it even worse. I think she just stuck
her foot in her mouth at the wrong time.

hildar,
I get your point...and maybe it WAS a foot-in-mouth moment, in hindsight.
I just pointed out what I THINK was the intent of the comment.
Trust me, in personal face-to-face discussions, I have tried to say what I thought, and the words that came out were intrepreted by the one I'm
talking to in a completely different way. Sorta describes what sometimes happens here o n ATS disuccusion boards!!! (maybe that's why break-ups
happen)...
Here, for all to read and repeat, is one of the funniest plaques I have ever seen:
"I know you believe you understand what you thought I said, but I don't think you realize that what you heard is not what I meant"
Talk about...(oh, even THAT is funny....'talk'!!)...anyway, communication is a difficult art. It is fraught with loopholes, landmines in modern
jargon...
Add to the fact we are writing....no facial expressions, no hand gestures...humans did not evolve that way!! We want to look into the eyes, see the
face...!!!
OK, someone start a thread on this topic, it is yours to start...I give it freely.

Im getting to be a Old White man, and I dont take offense to that, Our country was supposed to be founded on Freedoms, and anyone should be able to
run, and if elected by a free public entitled to become president,
You have to admit America was racist itself. its about time it swollowed that and move into the new world........

I fully agree that the US is racist, in fact lately it has gone from being racist with the blacks to being racist with the Mexicans. But either way
racist isnt what counts what counts is why would someone want to assassinate him and like I said before, what she had stated was something that never
should have been said. With so many proud Americans no matter what color there skin is they will get pissed off. And I dont even want to think what
the KKK is thinking after hearing that.
I may be proud to be an American but like I told hubby. Some days I would gladly leave in a minute if I had the money to do it. I dont care for what
our country is doing. But if my hubby was running for president there is no way in Hell I would say it in public. Nope I would have kept my mouth shut
and just smiled and hoped for the best.
And I fully agree sometimes we say things that can be heard or read the wrong way. But then again I am the type of lady that when I want to say
something I will say it. So my hubby had better never run for president. Because the Media would hear a lot of crap. And to top it all off I would
probally say if you dont like it you can kiss this and bend over and show the moon.

Hilda,
Are you familiar with the Voting Rights Act signed into law in 1965??
The fact of the matter is black Americans were overtly denied the rights of citizenship until 1965.
Hilda let's just say you were born black and knew effectively you were not considered a citizen. Then can you imagine within your lifetime your
husband stands a chance to become the President. So could you forgive her for saying that she is proud of the American people to see beyond race and
judge her husband on the "content of his character"???
She is genuinely proud of her nation regarding race. What's the problem?

Dorris Lessing is a "Persian (Iranian)-born British writer, whose novels and short stories are largely concerned with people caught in the social and
political upheavals of the 20th century. Central themes in Lessing's works are feminism ...., the battle of the sexes, individuals in search of
wholeness, and the dangers of technological and scientific hubris. Doris Lessing was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2007. Since 1949, she
has lived in England but she is also considered an African writer because she grew up and was educated in Zimbabwe (former Rhodesia)."
