Nato alert over wind farms after threat to air defences is revealed

Nato has begun an investigation into British findings that wind farms make overflying planes invisible to radar as military chiefs fear a security threat from the rapid spread of the turbines.

The US has been attending tests by Britain’s Air Warfare Centre after it made the surprise discovery that the energy plants create blind spots in air defences.

Looks like this could be a huge setback for the proposals to build huge wind farms all over the country, but no doubt air defence has priority over how “green” the power supply is in my opinion. Im also surprised how the findings come from British research; usually the Americans beat us to it!
