A team at the University of Copenhagen have tracked down a genetic mutation which took place 6-10,000 years ago and is the cause of the eye color of all blue-eyed humans alive on the planet today.

I just found it interesting that we can trace it back that far. Also the article says if the 'protein switch' was destroyed, or always off, we would all be albinos, without melanin.

It's just cool that as people we're all related despite our differences. Maybe some day we'll be able to put them all aside.
