Lebanon War Report Threatens Olmert

Olmert and his aides are expected to be heavily criticised by the Winograd Commission, which he appointed under pressure after the war ended in a cease-fire with Hezbollah guerrillas without achieving the goals he set out.

The interim findings, released last April by the panel headed by a retired judge, Eliyahu Winograd, accused Olmert of "severe failures" and hasty decisions at the beginning of the 34-day war against Hezbollah guerrillas.

Between 1,035 and 1,191 Lebanese civilians and combatants were killed in the war, as were 119 Israeli soldiers and 39 civilians, according to official figures from the two sides.

Looks like Olmert might go down.The whole point of Israel/Lebanon war to get wipe out the 'terrorists' called Hezbullah.
But instead of wiping them the Israeli army took a huge beating at the borders and lost many soldiers and tanks (merkavas).

The Israelis tried their best to get rid of Hezbulllah scum...
Israelis won the war because they destroyed the roots of hezbullah near the borders and they have killed 90% of the hezbullah terrorists.
Israel achieved its aim and came out victorious.Hezbullah got defeated and they ran back into Lebanon.

Olmert and the rest should be proud of what they did and the Israeli state should recognise thier achievements.
