[Here this is a big help as well.../]
this is hard for me...
|
What I do is use the quote button up on the right of the post I am quoting, then high lite everything I don't want and delete it leaving just
what I wanted to quote.
I am going to forget this ever happened. I will just never quote any one...
I love how OPs will quote many in one post, I guess I cant even make one quote properly, I am embarrassed and depressed.

Ok were getting closer, seems like if I use the quote button on the top rt. and then just delete all content I dont want I get the right way to quote,
now, how do I do this in a thread where I want to post responses to several different posts?
Be kind I am a natural blonde you know...

The best way to learn code, I once heard, is to study good code.
The code here is easy, so you've got a head start.
Learn to copy and paste, highlight, and delete, which I think you know already and when you want to do something, find post that does that click quote
and look at the code and repeat it in your post.
When you see something that you want to do, click quote and look at the code.
Semper gave you a link to the BB code, so save that to your favorites.
You can also experiment with the buttons above the text field to use as shortcuts.

Thats the best advice in the thread so far....
I once saw an external source quote from JackInTheBox that looked different and I wanted to learn how to do it so I clicked on the 'quote' button
above his post to see how he did it. It was really simple actually but I would have never known you could do that without looking at the quoted text
codes.
example:
Blah blah blah, buh blah blah blah, buh blah, buh blah, blah.
The best thing to remember is that the codes always come in pairs. The first one begins an action, and the one with the / in it ends the action.
[start whatever] [/end whatever]. It's only a matter of learning the handful of different codes the board supports and you'll soon be an 'expert'
(at least on ATS anyhow).
Good luck!
