Dexy's Midnight runners: 6.

I grew up with this of many songs that my parents would listen to: some tolerable, and some not. This was of the tolerable kind. I still don't understand the song and the music video which I have never seen before leaves me evermore bewildered. I cheated and looked at Wiki
And I found an interesting or strange bit of trivia.

The music video to accompany the single was directed by Julien Temple. It features members of the band wearing sleeveless shirts and overalls. Drummer Seb Shelton was reputedly fired from the band during the filming of the music video. Rowland had ordered his bandmates not to do any bathing or shaving of any kind, in order to achieve a more gruff appearance. Shelton did not follow the orders, and was subsequently kicked out of the band. This is also the reason of Shelton's absence near the end of the video. Wiki

One of my favourites:

I am not a big techno fan but I will admit that had me bouncing in my chair a bit! So I will give it an 8.

Here is the song that we will have our first dance to at my wedding, power metal...cheesy I know. Anyways, "I'll Never Let You Go" by Steelheart.

I couldn't get into it. Sorry but, 4/10. I spared it one too.

Maybe it's just a bit too happy for me.

Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood

Oh ya

This group crosses so many genres.

By the way, nice thread idea!

I typed out a long winded post as to why I rate this the way I do but then I accidentally deleated it..... Oh well

3/10

In my opinion, bad songwriting, but easy for most to enjoy.....

The rhythm section made the most of what it had to work with.

metalsphere: heres how to post the youtube vids.

with the address to the video, delete everything up to and including the = sign. keep the jumble of characters after = sign.

that jumble of letters/numbers goes inside the [ yvid] [ /yvid ] tags

so this link www.youtube.com...

becomes

[yv id] R7HkXI70t88 [/yv id] (without the space in the code)

and appears like this.

cant rate the song above me since the link didnt work, so heres mine.

one of the best aussie rock bands around, Jet - Rip it up

...i also have trouble with youtube bbcode tags. i got the video to show up in my post but when i hit play it says it's not available. so here...
