What a cosmic date! What is the signifigance of 8/8/8 as applied to conspiratorial 2012 armagedeon. It's got to be something bad right? The new moon falls on August 8, 2008 and it's the beginning of the Olympics in Peking (year of the RAT). Anyone making plans to dig in?

It's a date. It's quite a cool date which may spark some sort of recognition if you write it down and realise it, but other than that it's just a date.

The Chinese consider the number 8 to be lucky, as in Chinese, it sounds similar to the word for wealth. It's much like the number 7 in Western culture. They're hoping that, by starting the Olympics on 08/08/08 at 8:08:08 PM, the games will be successful.
