I would like to note that god didn't design our current calender. A Roman Tyrant named Julius Caesar invented and refined the model we use today. This means, no one is worshiping on the "correct' day, unless they do so every day or land on "god's special day" by chance...

Good points Fox

Step 3: Profit...,hehe

Yes all those things are seemingly innocuous.but what of the situation of where you are then commanded to subscribe and bow to a certain religion, whatever that be at the time,or you are forced to do something that is against your ideals and principles,

At this time these things are not happening and this is somewhat conjecture,
and this is mostly coming from a Christian point of view and what would happen and take place should these things arise,i believe that they will but again that is only my opinion and if they come to pass i know where i stand,
I know that some crew here get frustrated with these issues and that is understandable,if nothing more is said on this matter then so be it,i would say take heed lest the day fall upon you unannounced,it has been spoken
and that is as much as can be done, freely given to be given freely,

Thank you

BV

And to add to the confusion, the Julian calendar was revised and reformed into the Gregorian calendar most people use nowadays. We gained an almost-stable date for Easter, but lost 9.75 days from every year and and an additional cumulative three days every four centuries.

So... Ancient hebrews followed a lunar calendar... morph that into the Greco-Roman Sometimes-Solar, Sometimes-lunar model... then the Julian model for two thousand years, followed by the gregorian for the last five hundred, carry the two, and... Nope. I don't think today is Sunday, but yesterday may have been Saturday, and possibly, maybe, it was the second day of Maius.

So how do you figure it's Muslims that are the problem, given your own theological tendencies? Project much?

Judgement day will be interesting for you, I pray you will repent of such statements.

ALL will be given a chance to REPENT and accept Jesus, those who don't get tossed into the lake of fire. It is that simple.

Most muslims have already denied Jesus a saviour, instead accepting muhammad.

Most sunday worshipers DEFY both Jesus and GOD in pursuit of there own way.

Today in any Islamic state, the BIBLE and sabbath worship can often bring death. FACT

In the middle ages sabbath worship brought death or forced coversion to Jews.

Both appear to me to be a time of forced acceptance of the mark..........

How about all the old "sunday" laws...........no buy or sell of many things.......

As world disasters begin the finger pointing to those who "defy" god will begin and forced sunday/friday worship will happen..........

Funny, it is that very calendar that set the worship of SOL and sunday and the "jewish" sabbath as saturday.

It was the Holy Roman Catholic bishops HATE of all things "JEWISH" in 300-400 AD that changed the day to sunday. It is in the Chatholic archives.

So, even though Sunday is NOT the Sabath, Jesus IS our 'rest'.

CS, hold onto your seat.........

I agree with you on that statement. It's good to see that you dont get so wrapped up in dogma that you forget the New Covnenant

WOW!!!!
You're not as dogmatic as I thought.
I'm impressed.

The new covenant???? Howabout you people didn't drop out of school, and learned about objectivity and the scientific method? That's statistics 201, 301, 302, 401, and advanced graduate level decision science 501 ....

Would the space shuttle fly on knowledge strictly from the bible? why not? it's god's word right? god, come to know reality you guys!

Are you ready to give complex answers to simple questions? I hope so, 'cause i have not one, but two!

First off, how? How does "getting chipped" allow control of anything? Now the idea of shambling automated lines of robotic humans "getting chipped" or being checked for chips, or whatever, makes for great atmosphere in your average, run of the mill dystopian action flick. But it doesn't make a lot of sense in reality.

Second, why? What possible advantage is there to knowing that today you went to the store, picked up some cream cheese, two loaves of bread, and a six-pack of diet cola, then spent five minutes pleasuring yourself to porn, before giving your dog a bath and then settling out to watch six hours of uninterrupted sitcom?

[edit on 27-1-2008 by TheWalkingFox]

LOL, you just want to see how long my posts can get, don't you?

So say the 7-grain bread, the cream cheese, and I'm sorry, but I don't like diet cola, but regular cola, will all go into the database. Just like how where I live, it's law for the insurance companies to report whether I have car insurance or not to the police, the government will reciprocate and share information about your habits with your health insurance company. So up the premium for the extra carbs in your bread, the fat in the cream cheese, and the sugar in the cola. They don't need the chip to monitor your porn habits, as it's probably all in their internet database already. See the recent article on AT&T and our government. So that's just a little example of what MIGHT happen, using your question there.

What I'm more worried about are other things. I happen to be a person who doesn't really agree with a lot of the US' current policies on foreign policy and the consistent raping of our constitution. They like to watch people like me. Make sure I don't convince too many people that they're the bad guys. Already, people they film at protests are tracked like criminals. They use computer facial recognition to track you around, they watch what you buy on your credit card, and if they feel they don't like you, well so much for habeas corpus, you're overseas for three years in jail before you even get a trial. All you have to do is piss off the wrong person at the wrong time, and you're screwed.

See, the basic concept of the chip is not necessarily bad in most people's eyes. They think: well, if you're not doing anything wrong, then you have nothing to worry about, right? Well, that's assuming you treat laws passed here as absolute truth and righteousness. That's not always the case. Actually, you don't even need to be doing anything illegal. You just have to be described as "interfering with the government." That's kinda vague. You're all fine and good if you eat well, you don't meddle in what the government has planned for you, you don't go around causing trouble, and you don't smoke anything illegal. But, wait. What's going on here? You say you want to throw my son in an overseas jail because he organized a group of say, 5 people to go downtown and picket some silly organization that you guys contracted? Well, you'll have to---oh. You have where he shopped last, you have all the buildings he's entered and exited for the past couple of years, you have his face on the street cameras, all of his emails and web traffic and phone conversations. A terrorist? What?!!??

What I'm saying is, ABUSE OF POWER. ABUSE OF POWER. ABUSE OF POWER. Do you really trust the government's enhanced ability to track you to be used entirely for good? We're already on the last steps of a very clear-cut method for turning a republic into a fascist police state. I hope you don't really trust a government who payed off the people who made our voting machines for the current and past two elections to even MORE detailed information about yourself.

What level of sun screen should I take with me? I've already got an ice chest and plenty of ice tea mix.

Ok, so I ran out of room! LOL

So the whole buying and selling thing without the mark thing. CREDIT SCORES. 'nuff said. I'm working pretty hard right now to fix my credit situation before these things go up.

I would suggest reading up a little bit about these chips. I simply googled RFID chip and got a good mix of regular news articles, the wikipedia, and websites by other tinfoil-hat-wearing people like us.

yeah, I like it...It's the mid west. Fitting for my handle eh? I like it. I found one that was a monitor on a 767 showing a movie (sky show...he heee), except the avatar would have taken up 2/3rds of th scree, so I went with this one.

I particularly enjoy that we can talk on here and be friendly despite not disclosing if we are religious or not...it's a start, and sooner or later people are going to have to forget about their dead gods from long ago, the fires of hell, the clouds of heaven, the morphine from purgatory, the 10,000 virgins, and get on with living while solving our problems we all face today, right now and here.

It's a crap shoot with so many nuclear nations, and more than 20,000 armed nuclear war heads ready to shoot off and reach designated target in less than 30 minutes. Will humanity rise to the occasion, or repeat the cycles of the past? I'm not a betting man, but if I was, I don't think this is a table I would want to place my chips on.

best of luck everyone, and remember, when it happens, don't be afraid. Death is really just a transition. Also it won't matter what your belief or lack there of, there will still be a light and lots of love...so when the bombs go off, don't fret....

Hopefully cooler minds will prevail.

As for the mark of the beast, I find it interesting how Revelation 13:17 lays it out:

And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

It appears by this scripture there are "THREE" distinct possibilities and not just "ONE" :

The Mark
The Name
The Number

As a matter of fact, please DO look at that site. I'm sorry, I'm not usually mean, but really. Sometimes I wonder if people who are schizophrenic should stay away from the internet.

That "Secret Covenant" thing is pretty close to the bottom of the really, really long main page.

I typed that into google and it is actually:

thewatcherfiles.com

The only problem with this lady, if you click under what she believes, she completelty throws out the teachings of Paul, who wrote the majority of the New Testament. People don't realize that it was through Paul that the mystery of Salvation was revealed:
Ephesians 3:3
How that by revelation he made known unto me( Paul) the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,...

She is not the first I have seen to accuse Paul of misleading people away from the truth. What I find amazing with such people, they hold on to the "mystery" Paul revealed regarding salvation and then debunk him as a deciever and throw out all his writings, while holding to the mystery regarding Jesus.

I'm sorry, but I wouldn't believe anything that website told me. It's basically a big collection of pretty much every conspiracy theory you can think of. They pasted them all together, and unsuccessfully tried to link it all together.

I'm a big conspiracy theory nut, but you can't just go and believe every single thing out there, and then post it all together in some unreadable format. It also appears that the whole thing is put together for profit, as there are ads hidden in there, and an option to buy a 2GB flash drive with their radio shows on them. Yes, radio shows that are on the website you're visiting. For $99. I'm sorry, but I think some poor people are being taken advantage of.

I'm not saying you should throw every subject covered on that website out the window, but I think you should visit some more respectable and objective sources for your information. Places like here, where people can discuss the subjects, instead of pour through a bunch of one-way articles and photoshopped images made in a specific trail for gullible people to follow.

Sorry for my meanness, but that just happened to hit a little pet peeve of mine. I mean, I get frustrated when I try to talk to people about things like our government, aliens, and other alternative subjects, and their eyes glaze over, 'cuz they remember that almost every time they saw those subjects mentioned was on some website like that or something the crazy homeless guy on the street said to them.

Makes me wonder if the whole purpose of that site is for exactly that.

DUN DUN DUUUUUN! Conspiracy theory! Bet we won't see that one on the site.

Question:
and excuse me if I sound rude but, has anyone ever thought of the fact that the Bible was written by a bunch of smelly old guys, that just decided to make up a story?
I wanna know where the proof to all the stories in the bible are.
Again, i am not trying to rude....but this wiccan wants to know.
I use to be Baptist, and alot of the stories in the bible, go against the bible.
What's up with that?
