This is a record card of a sighting at Corong, NM on 12AUG51 which was classified as a meteor.

Archivist's Notes: One page legible file of a 10073 Record card describing the sighting over the skies of Corong, New mexico on 12AUG51. No witness names, the sighting was of a 10 second sighting of a round shaped object which changed colors from yellowish-white to orange to green which moved fast and disappeared over the horizon.

On 12 Aug1951 a light was seen over Corong, New Mexico. It was in view to a person in the military for ten seconds as it descended at a 60 degree angle towards the horizon. It changed color from white to orange to green during the time it was viewed.. There were no photos.

It seems logical from the small amount of information here that this was indeed a meteor.

This one page document does not reveal much.
With looking at the description I would believe that this was a meteor.

There is not much information of this incident on the internet. got a page that covers the sightings between August and September 1951.
This incident is briefly mentioned with the remark: case missing
