Sorry Area_X, I wasn't making disparaging remarks about anyone except them. I also think those that are saying that these "people" are indicative of Christians should rethink what they have said. These people are not Christians. They are conniving, rat cunning, manipulators who think they've found a good way to make some dollars.

Oh sheesh, i just realized who he is. Aww, he was just as cute as a bug in a rug and a fun actor. I loved A Knight's Tale.

hello? i'm a christian and i'm not rich, or conniving or whatever other disparaging remarks you like to label people with. i also thought heath ledger was a wonderful actor. i'm sorry to hear he's no longer with us.

i don't get all this anomosity being rubber stamped repeatedly by people who don't even know most of the people they are complaining about (see you're complaining about only the people you get to see, read and hear about, which is a small representative porition of the people of the world who are christians. if it were true that they were as bad as you said they were, wouldn't they all be protesting heath's funeral!

sigh. i need a new hobbie. this place just gets more and more depressing and close-minded, by the day

Undo, I cerainly do apologise if I offended you in any way. I too, am a Christian. But I did see the funny side of Mindlessness's joke. We just have to accept that some people see us this way.

Westboro Baptist Church

The small church runs numerous websites such as GodHatesFags.com, GodHatesAmerica.com and others expressing condemnation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people (LGBT), Roman Catholics, Muslims and Jews, as well as populations it believes are supporting the forementioned groups, including Swedes, Canadians, Irish, British, and Americans.

Ahhhhh!

It is all clear to me now!

Now is there anybody they do not hate?

Buddhist, Asians Countries....

But to be serious, I disgusted just like everyone else, I honestly think WBC only protest to gain nationwide attention, I seriously see no other purpose in their little campaigns. I wonder how they would feel if one of their member died (no children included) and a united group of religious groups and ethnic groups go picketing that funeral....

That is actually a really good idea. The ol' Pastor can't be far from falling off the perch.

Apology accepted, of course, but you do realize that he's totally serious? He honestly believes all christians are exactly like those people on the news and exactly like your description of those people on the news. For every christian homophobe, there's probably just as many homophobes that aren't christian. There are christians who are homosexuals, FOR CRYIN' OUT LOUD!
They may be trying to live a celebate life or are bisexuals and choosing a hetero relationship, etc.

Sometimes, I think the whole planet has gone bonkers.

I fine this tastless and stupid. Way to go workers of God lets picket. How sad in days to see man of God or at least they say men of God picket. God said do the work of God. Save a soul preach the word. Dont get me wrong I might not think in God's world that gay is right. But that does mean I think God would want these people to picket. Freedom of choice thats why where here. Leager was a man of God alot of the movies he did where christian based. Just because he believe people had the right to choose does mean anything.

Its so sad to see people of God do this and picket other than preach, save a soul, or help those that need help.

Go Christians

Pretty much. As the document in my sig shows, the grandfather and the adults have become ring-leaders and brainwash the children etc. The grandfather (leader of the church) is openly recorded talking about the millions of dollars he'll get from certain book sales etc. When the documentary maker tries to ask him a few questions, the grandfather says every question is stupid and irrelevant to the scripture.

Which is ironic, as I remember Jesus overturning the money handlers in the church... and this crotchety old fool was discussing his million dollar schemes right in front of the assembly, in front of a camera

Seriously only in America could you take the death of a fantastic, young aspiring actor and turn it into some kind of media circus and gay bashing excuse.... Its no wonder that 80% of the world hate Americans

Dude, I don't really care when people say America sucks etc. etc. But that's retarded.

America has free speech so these people are allowed to exist. Is that why the world hates America?

Or does the world hate America because we're greedy capitalists who hand over their government to satanists?

Hmm... food for thought.

The Phelps 'family' can be considered as poster worthy for the worst child abuse people ever to come along since the Third Reich!!!

Freedom of Speech is one thing...but it crosses a line when it begins to focus on another's rights. It is that simple.

I have read the pages on this thread, and am happy to see that there is almost universal disgust at what the Phelps 'family' espouse. They are vocal, but in the longer view, insignificant because their message is so wrong.

I pity the children...innocents who are borne into this cult... I hope they grow up and find a way out.

??? so what's the non-christian alternative? parking my broken down ford next to the russian president's limosine? what's your frame of reference? how about a chnese cabinet member's helicopter? i could go visit the adoption centers that are overflowing with female children, it's a great life in china, ya know, if you're a man.. may be stand in line for toilet paper for 3 hours in moscow, in the driving rain and snow, so i can go home and die peacefully with my roll of toilet paper? maybe i can park it next to the hotel casino in las vegas owned by that iranian prince? no? you don't have any friends that make money? christians should all live in the streets and be paupers so you can be satisfied that only people who agree with you have anything of value?

how about the latest rock star's lear jet? all those kids forking over their dollars so a rich rock star can tell them it's good to kill yourself with narcotics. they need to hear that just about as much as they need to hear that god hates fags.

This church borderlines on my fanatical terrorist list.

Not only do they have the domain www.godhatesfags.com and they plan on picketting the Heath Ledger funeral. But in the past they have had the foul taste of protesting at funerals of service men that died in Iraq.

That IMO is the sickest and most horrible thing you could ever do.
I'm not a violent person but if I saw then in action I think they'd be meeting god sooner rather than later. Though in my own mind they are all going to hell.

Romans 2:1 Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.

John 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
