I have been reading a bunch of stuff on this group today, and I have to say this. If my son or daughter got killed in Iraq and they showed up to picket and yell their crap....... I would be on death row. No joke. Yes that is a threat. I can't be the only one out there thinking this. I dont care about your rights or freedom when it comes to my friends or family. A insult like that demands the use of force. They can take their bible and faith and shove it up their white fat glory hole. I believe in God, I dont believe in this. I am surprised it has not yet happened.

In reading through this thread and discovering more about this "Church" and their pathetic money making tactics, I feel that these guys are about as far removed from any legitimate form of religion as can be and are nothing more than parasites that feed on the emotions of the bereaved.
These people are fully aware of what they are doing and that makes it all the more disgusting. They are not simply misguided religious zealots, it is far more calculated than that. What is truly frightening is that their children are indoctrinated into this way of thinking.
Surely there have been worse cases than their intended picketing of Heath Ledger's memorial. The picketing and provocation at the funerals of the war dead is simply abominable.

They are nothing more than the 21st Century equivalent of the Sawney Bean clan.

That is an amazing list. What it tells me is that this "church" is in reality all the rabid strands of American intolerance, prejudice, paranoia, fear and hatred reflected in a fun-house mirror. They did not name it the "US Church" for nothing.

They are the ultimate expression of the mentality of smug intolerance and hypocrisy sold by Fox News, of Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and their ilk. A pathetic parody of the in-your-face posturing, the unfounded certitude, the willful ignorance and blind aggression against all that is "foreign" that is being consciously fed and stoked in American society today.

They're the rats that escaped from that lab.

Doesn't a situation like this finally make us relize that radical christians are just a nusance? I recall a similar thread when they were protesting outside of army soldiers funerals for some other dumb@$$ reason. Is there anyone that actually agrees with this?

yes they do and what are christians?....they are people..
the christian part of it is THE RELIGION.

take away the religion and they are just people.
don`t blame the people.

How contradictory!

I never hear about churches demonstrating against religious leaders who are closet homosexuals, or religous politicians for that matter. So it's okay for the leaders in our community to be gay behind closed doors but it's not okay for an actor to play ONE movie role. How backwards is this mode of thinking?

Besides, Ennis wasn't gay. He was totally straight. Just had a hankerin' for a little Jack!

I loved Heath Ledger! I can't believe that the Baptist Church would go to such lengths! It was only a ROLE in a movie.

I'm seeing many comments like "they're all inbreds" and things like that directed at that church. I'm hoping that those who are making these comments are directing them at this church due to their views, and NOT due to their geographical location.
I will tell you this: almost EVERYONE in the state of Kansas who is not a member of that church is just as upset as anyone else about this. They have had legal action taken against them for this sort of thing and Kansans have had to learn to take this church with a grain of salt because they've had to deal with this sort of thing for years. Those living in Topeka, especially.
