Hi...what was everyones favorite films of 07?

When I think of the best films of 07 two films instantly come to mind and they are No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood. Not only are these two movies the best of 07 they are two of the best movies I have ever seen! NCFOM was simply amazing.. the Coen Brothers never let me down. Chigurh is one of the baddest bad guys I have ever seen. That silenced shotgun was insane.

There Will Be Blood was also a top notch flim. Paul Thomas Anderson delivers again and DDL easily gets best actor of the year from me.

A few honorable mentions:

I Am Legend
Before the Devil Knows Your Dead
Superbad
American Gangster
3:10 to Yuma

I saw a lot of bad movies this year too...Smokin' Aces and rush hour 3 just to name a couple.

Any thoughts? What was your favorite movie of 07?

It's a toss up between "Pans Labyrinth" and "Perfume"

"3:10 to Yuma" had some great moments.

Never got to see Perfume.. And wasn't Pans Labyrinth release in 06? If not that deserves a spot on the honorable mentions list

Pans Labyrinth premierd at Cannes in 2006
but was released in the US for general audiences on Jan 19, o7.

I also liked the "Valley of Elah" shot in my backyard and a lot of my friends were extras/standins.

'07 Juno... only new movie I can remember watching.

'08 I saw some clips of "How She Move" last year. It isn't "The Real Toronto" but looks like a really good one to catch if it gets a wide release.

I still haven't gotten a chance to see Juno but I've heard nothing but good things about it. I'm sure I'll enjoy it when I finally get the chance to.

The Bourne Ultimatum was freaktastic!

Juno was the most original teen pregnancy flick I'd seen in forever, not sure if that's technically an '07 or '08 film.

RD,When and if you go see Zodiac, Eastern Promises and Michael Clayton,
I would be interested in your opinion on these films. I wrote my reviews in the movie section of bts. Your input would be appreciated.

I'm excited about seeing the recent 08 offerings.

Whoah - Transformers didn't get a mention? Was I the only one that liked it?

Other than that - I am Legend was great!

Thx

A film that I forgot to mention...

"The Brave One" Jodi Foster is one of Americas finest actresses ever.

I had several issues with "I am Legend". It would seem that the producer/director is trying to make a realistic "this could happen" type film but fail in that there are many inconsistencies.

Furthermore, from what I understand the very first film on the book is said to be the best. "Last Man on Earth" which I have not seen.

Has anyone seen all the movies based on this book?
