Interesting, how does all this tie into evolution and what the church says? 100,000 year old skull? Seems like this sort of thing does not comply with quite a few modern beliefs. Well I cannot wait to see what discoveries this will turn up as well as what else they will find.

An important and interesting find. I would like to know what dating method was used. Also how about the timing? China is making a lot of news with the Olympics just around the corner. Man i hope they can pull some dna from the teeth . I love the theory of evolution but to find were a cross bread of ancient human and chimp(or equivalent) would be just as amazing.

WOW! where did that come from? Please excuse me if I don't trust the "news" from the China Daily. Again, show me a report from a REPUTABLE news source (reuters, AP, etc.) and I will be excited. Until then this story is hogwash.

I guess I just need more clarification. Are they talking about a human homo sapiens skull, or are they talking about some other human or hominid species? It would certainly be interesting if it was a properly-dated skull that could be classified as similar or nearly identical to a modern human's.

It wouldn't necessarily mean that modern humans have been around that long, of course. There have been a surprising number of human-like creatures evolve over the past few million years, including a few that we did not descend from. There's always room for more branches on the human family tree.

Provided, like I said, that the samples are verified.

etc etc......its not the fact that a 100,000 year old modern human skull has been found that interests me (as it is generally thought that 'we' have been around for 200,000 years as a species). what i find interesting is where it was found....this would mean that human movement across the globe occured earlier than previously thought.
