Steam pipe in New York, a bridge in Minnesota. We're falling apart from the inside out... Sounds like it's about time to start dumping money into our old infrastructure and make it new again.

...and don't forget, a hurricane in New Orleans.

Our infrastructure rots and we abandon major cities while we pour 100s of billions into a failed war in Iraq. To win hearts and minds and feather Cheney's retirement fund from Halliburton, we rebuild infrastructure we had bombed a few years earlier, only to see it attacked by insurgents.

This is the American Way.

i can agree with you on that, but...............

who is able & qualified to replace the crumbling infrastructure??
Haliburton? Fluor?
will they in turn outsource the projects to Mexicans in America

We do not have the necessary qualified skill people to do such a massive
rebuilding of infrastructure...
even the Corps of Engineers weren't up to keeping the Orleans levee's up to snuff.

Why don't we just hire the illegals? They're already here, and they are willing to work cheap. Tell them that their choices are to rebuild the infrastructure, or serve in the war, then they'll earn their citizenship.
