Man’s embryo successfully cloned in US, page

US scientists say they have produced embryos that are clones of two men, in an attempt to produce patient-specific stem cells. Researchers removed DNA from donated human eggs, and replaced it with DNA from the skin cells of two volunteers. They produced embryos with genetic material that matched the men’s, but did not go on to extract stem cells.

seems like the line between acceptable and unacceptable has been blurred... I thought this was illegal still, but I'm not exactly up to date on my cloning and genetic manipulation policies.

What do you guys think about this? Personally, I'm still torn on the issue. So many great opportunities, just as many bad ones.

so they create these cloned embryo's and then destroy them.....but did they really destroy them?

i don't have any evidence but my fat ass gut but i'm gonna roll with it....there are scientists, rich hitters, etc that are out there cloning.
there just has to be. thats like the must have, must do thing right...
