There is a recount happening..

The people who started this probably decided to give the money to the ones doing the recount now..

Point being.. Ron Paul cant ask for someones account to be frozen just because he don't feel like doing something.

That would well stupid on his part and moreover not a good thing for his minions.. They would start seeing him in a different light..

And no.. Paypal does do stupid retarded crap like that.. go to Google and type in "Paypal Sucks", then tell them people on there Ron Paul froze their accounts..

The recount is by Kucinich. That does not change the fact that Ron Paul supporters went behind his back and against his wishes. He would have put that money to better use in his continued campaign, just like he stated he intends to do by moving on. His unruly rabbid supporters are 50% of the reason he is unelectable, and this is just one openly public example for everyone to see why.

I am surprised we're not talking more about the legal issue that all that is required is a written guarantee of payment to start to the recount process. The demand from the Secretary of State that the money had to be received by 3:00 pm is apparently against the law.

And we got other problems. I am reading over on some forums that:

1. The NH Secretary of State is refusing to accept payment for recount.

2. Albert Howard is sitting in the Secretary of State's office trying to do something about it. A bunch of other heavy hitters in the movement are going crazy with spontaneous phone conferences trying to figure out what to do.

3. There were apparently some real complications with the Granny Warriors Paypal account(s) in receiving funds for the recount, to the point where they had to make a new account, and then there were serious problems with that one. As in, the site crashed multiple times in both cases.

Now that one's odd, because in all my years of using paypal, I have never EVER seen that site go down. Then again, I've never had 40,000 in it either, so who knows. But it's strange.
forum.prisonplanet.com...

4. The state of New Hampshire ballot appeared to have been tampered with.

5. Some Michigan machines were actually rejecting Ron Paul's votes!
www.prisonplanet.com...

6. Mitt Romney's Finance Chair is the CEO of PayPal?

7. The guy who donated the 1,000 is apparently a harmless Lesbanese Christian from a town in GA...

And the real odd thing here is that paypal would freeze the account based on a "suspicious" donation? Since when does paypal freeze accounts based just upon the spelling of someone's name? I dunno folks, something is stinking pretty bad here. Paypal better have a damn good reason, and be able to show that there was prior suspicious activity with that account.

8. Some users have closed their paypal accounts because of this in protest.

I'm one of them!

I never really used that account anyways, and I highly disapprove of what Paypal did.

Paypal sucks.
I'm Hyzera, and I approve this message.

Meg Whitman -- CEO of Ebay which owns PayPal and a top member of Mitt Romney's team on finance.

She is the one who could pull the necessary strings to block the Granny Warriors in their effort to pay for the New Hampshire Republican recount.

We need to remember that everything that can be done will be done to deny Ron Paul and his supporters their Federal rights within each State's primary. The neo-cons are evil and will not let go of the Republican Party. Stealing votes is actually child's play compared to the assassinations of which they are capable.

There were numerous mentions above about Romney owning Paypal. Paypal is owned by Ebay and Ebay is a publicly traded company, with a CEO that is not Mitt. Where did that info come from?
And as for Paypal - THEY SUCK. I have had numerous issues with them over the last 10 years. I am done with them - money orders are the only way I roll now.
I do not believe either candidate (DK or RP) would win or have anything overturned by it, but I am not opposed to the recount and frankly would welcome it to keep everyone honest.

Oh shnikies I forgot about that. Well that sucks. Googling "paypal alternatives" comes up with a few others. Most are for taking payments rather than making them. But I usually favor sellers that have legitimate merchant accounts anyway so you can get the protections of running a credit transaction.

I wiki'd it, and yes you are correct and that sucks. I am glad I didn't vote for Mitt now in the primary. Even if this isn't true, and Paypal just screwed up as usual, I still hate the potential conflict of interest here.

The Granny Warriors aren't the only ones petitioning to have the primary recounted.

A recent thread I authored mentions Kucinich asking for a recount, and actually paying to have it done.

There's actually a Republican no-name candidate that asked for it as well.

Kucinich is paying for a Democratic recount, but I'm not sure he paid for every county yet.

The Republican candidate asking for a recount has to pay, but has not forked over the cash yet.

Isn't it funny they have to pay in order for 'democracy' to be doing what its supposed to?

Another case of faulty machinery and political trickery.

i completly agree, you want accountablility it appereantly is preety expensive. i guess we cant just expect the process to be tranparent and accountable let alone legit. its realy very sickining that some one would have to pay let alone pay per county.

Yeah, that is one of the especially cool things about ATS, with so many members involved in so many subjects we are able to quicken the communication process greatly.

I thought about linking this thread with the one on CitiBank and how you can't buy guns with their credit card anymore. If we become cashless and these money exchange mediums start ruling purchases in there many ways I foresee some real problems!

Interested Always - thanks for the plug with the link above. The problem of Citibank or other institutions limiting our purchasing ability in a free capitalistic economy is troubling. In this cashless society that is coming, we are all screwed. Feels like socialism/communism is well on its way here in the US.

Don't worry about paypal or citibank, or any other financial institute telling you what you can or cannot buy, Barter, (ieI'll buy food for you for a month for that nice shiny 6 shooter) Just get a copy of The Towers of Utopia to see how to handle a cashless society, it's quite informative to see how the future will really work
