2012 - What WIll it Bring?

i honestly feel 2012 will bring something; im pretty sure it wont be the end of the world as most see it. I feel we shouldn't take prophecies in a literal sense, but instead interperet them.
2012 may be the year we find existance of e.t's
we could start a huge war, leading to almost complete extinction.
a meteor may come and start a new ice-age
we sign an agreement with aliens to export whisky and jelly to planet x in exchange for rules of space travel..

who really knows untill it comes, but i do believe something memorable will happen; i just don't really want to believe that the end of the world is coming because in 2012, i'll only be 21;
makes it kinda pointless going to university, doesn't it?

Here's another perspective on the end of the world.

I have a "Get Fuzzy" calendar, and today's goes like this.

Satchel: "John 3:16" [repeatedly]

Rob, the shiny pink freak: "Satchel! Is that you?"

Satchel: "Your friend John called at 3:16."

Bucky: Beware! The end of "The World" is now!" (next panel) "....it ends at 5:00, and then 'All Things Considered' comes on."

I think its important to note that there is not a planetary alignment in december 2012. There was one in May 2000 where our moon, our sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn lined up and there was no tidal disasters. This alignment was not a perfect alignment (that is truly rare). There was a three planet alignment in 2002. the next big one is in 2438.

If there is a planet X that can somehow sustain life beyond the terrestrail planets there would be some evidence beyond conjecture. The four outer Jovian planets are gaseuos while their moons may hold a slim chance of life... though none has been detected.

If planet X is hidden in the kuiper belt you should know the mass of the kuiper belt is 100th the mass of earth. With 100,000 objects (including Pluto and its 3 moons) in the belt its highly improbable of a planet able to support life existing within its conifines..

If you move out to the Oort cloud, the fartheest reaches of our solar system, that is one light year away; this suggests an orbit that far exceeds the orbittal alignment prescribed of in the mayan calender.

Of course, if the theoretical wormhole exists it may appear as a result of black hole orbits in other galaxies and it could provide your bridge.

It's important to have an understanding of astro physics when discussing these theories as it will help you to provide a stronger arguement than myth. It is also better to listen to the people who were educated in these areas as opposed to those who read a single article and take it is a fact.

The term for expert is a very loosley used term these days and anyone with computer access to google or wikipedia seems to qualify. This is not to discredit anyone on here, it's just important to draw your own conclusions based on your own research as opposed to quoting others. Look how often the FDA experts change what is good and not good for you. So research it yourself, use NASA's resources, they'er enormous, it will help you to better understand what the Myans and the Sumerains had right ... and wrong.

2012 will be just another year. Maybe.

I heard there is a possibility of a major solar storm around 2011 maybe 2012. I hope that doesn't happen because I heard we could be without power or electricity for several months since certain equipment would get blown up if the storm was bad enough. Gasoline station pumps and water pumping stations require electricity so I don't believe life would be pleasant if something like that happened. I don't believe we are ready for anything of that magnitude. After the next solar cycle possibly ending in 2012, the sun will be entering a cycle where it will be dimmer than normal. I believe the Earth will be getting much colder in the years afterwards in spite of all the hot air coming from the greenhouse gas supporters.

Being somewhat of a amateur specialist in this field, I feel an urge to come with some additional facts;
The real date for "transformation", the ending of the last era will accually be on 2011-10-28, the 2012 event is more like the "epilogue" of the whole deal. My mind is fixed on 2011 more than 2012.

Something will happen though, something massive. But what exactly is still up ourselves. We have planted the seeds and in 2011 it is time to reap the fruits of our actions; starting with the birth of man up to that date. My money is on that we will get our asses spanked by the Gods for treating, not only each other, but also the great holiness of Mother Earth as, well, crap.

Everyone with an intuition know that time is running out and that we shall prepare ourselves for the upcoming. Not physically though; massing up on supplies and guns will do nothing, no, we need to prepare mentally for the great day of change. Prepare for something we can't even imagine.

I might not be ready, but I still expect the unexpected and I always, ALWAYS keep my mind open. Listening. Observing. Remembering.

Don't involve the bible here, please. "The Book" has been changed, reformed and edited so many times thorughout the centuries that it no longer holds the accuaracy it once held. It might be a very harsh thing to state, but I dare to call it inferior or obsolete if you try to apply it in this field of research.
If you seek the truth about this new era to come, look inside yourselves instead, or if you wish, the Mayan codex, they have a much more accurate insight.

Whatever it brings im sure of one thing. theres a big opportunity coming soon and the people in charge of this world want everyone to miss it. why? because if they go down (and they already know thats coming AND inevitable) they want to drag as many other people down with them as they can

Yes, this is in the Mayan prediction as well. I, among ohters, reads it as USA on the decline (prove me wrong) will drag the rest of the world into the flames in its final spasms of death. It is worries me, but it is also just a natural thing. It has to happen and so it is written in the stars.

I thought the Mayan codex also mentions things happening in the year 44XX (dont remember the exact numbers!) How can they make predictions about the 4th millenium if the cataclysm is supposed to come in the second?

I guess it could it be predictions for the remnants of the human race?
