This is an awesome thread, but I have a few questions about the law of attraction.

1. Would you ever attract something you wanted illegally? IE, someone who wants more money is lined up with the opportunity to steal the money he/she needs.

I like your questions because they reflect some of the most voiced mass-consciousness-negative-beliefs. This one is a variation of "in order to achieve something, you have to give something else up" or "no pain, no gain" or "you can succeed at the detriment of others" (all the same belief).

You can create anything you like without harming anyone. Its important for society to learn this.

Should it happen that the universe tests you in this way, refuse the temptation and insist that you can also have it without stealing. You really can.

2. What if someone feels deep resentment towards you and wants you dead, could they attract this death upon you?

Only if you allow it. That persons strong intent only has an effect with your permission and consent. If you know how to put your own vibes first, nothing others say or do or think or plan has any effect upon you. Only your own thoughts do.

3. What if two people want the same thing, such as a job promotion?

Making ones creation dependent upon others and what others think, say, do, is THE #1 stopper when it comes to creating reality. If you stay aligned with your vision and trust you will get either that promotion or something better elsewhere.

I'd like to share a recent experience. This is nothing new to me but I thought I'd share this one.

I have great computer speakers, but they sometimes turn crackly, and pretty bad, but then are perfect for a long time. I came to the realisation yesterday that it could be completely related to a couple factors:

I do all sorts of psi training on my computer desk. I practise extending my field and putting my awareness into objects, feeling them and effecting them. I am able to do this to a novice degree. I believe I might be interfering with some sensitive EM fields of my surroundings.

I had heard of incidents like this but didn't think they really applied to me, such as electrical equipment failing and lights flickering. As well, my computer would crash now and then and there has been some rare occassions where I've had windows on my screen move with my vision, same with the mouse.

Anyways, and I did this before too... I said ok.. its like this.. I want my computer speakers to work, sure enough, 15 minutes later they were fine. And when they are screwed like this it usually lasts a day or more. I noted too that they were screwed up more then usual and I think its because I was doing some psi stuff. This had happened before and I willed the speakers to work.

Anyways I thought I'd share that interesting one. Don't fry your electronics!

Its also interesting to note that at work today I realised I needed better work gloves then the ones they give me. I went to the store, and it came to 11.29. Well I had only 1 dollar and 30 cents in my pocket, and in my wallet I had this old 10 dollar bill I recently got that I wanted to get rid of, to somewhere like a big store. These old bills get passed around.

Anyways, I love the synchronicities. They are in our every day life. When you start to realise your actions are fluidic, things start to come together. You just flow with nature.

I'm glad this thread is still going strong.

I watched The Secret for about 10 minutes a year ago and read some of the posts here. It amazes me how a simple thing like friendship and realizing ideas get some holy stigma attached to them.

It is just common sense that if people who like you and you have good friends that share your ideas you have it much easier in life than if you're a loner disliked by everybody around you.

I'm a firm beleiver some techniquese work, because I apply them myself. It became second nature so to speak.

But for those who realy succeded (maybe not everybody) will tell you that it isn't that easy. Success comes with a price. You'll loose friends. And most likely money will corrupt you sooner or later.

I do sense thoe so nicely portrait people in The Secret all have something to hide.

When you reach for success, never forget how you got there. If you beleive it's all because YOU thought of it and wanted it SO much, you're wrong. Never forget those people who helped you get there.

Its just like they tell you in the sylva mind method. When doing power of attraction, they say to help at least TWO people a day, without expecting anything in return. And you know... when your doing POA, you might feel you would be rewarded by this somehow. It may start off like this, but after a while, you start to do these things, to help people just because you want to, and a reward is irrelevant. Their happyness and productivity is your reward.

We are all connected, everything, one's success is everyones success, if even in a small and un-noticeable way to some.

We got an increase of frequency, and decrease. Some would link this to love and fear. I recommend watching "The Biology of Perception" on youtube by Dr Bruce Lipton.

In Qi-gong, tai chi, you learn to feel your energy, and when you feel it, you learn to increase its frequency. Their philosophy is simply, by increasing the frequency of energy, its not bound to 3D laws, for it becomes higher dimensional energy. I could give a more in depth explanation from this book but you get the picture.

So, how can we increase the frequency of the energy? Well from this vid, and various spiritual philosophies, love is the increasing factor.

We are all bound, and by feeling love, and acceptance, that connected feeling of unity, we increase the frequency of energy.

But don't believe it just cuz I told ya.
. I do believe it to be true.

So what I'm trying to say is, and I'm agreeing with you here.

Theres 2 ways of looking at it.. there is no seperation, thus your will, even if seems selfish, I think is still the will of nature, as you are apart of it.

and the other way of looking at it, the feeling of connection, or love seems to play a factor in the effectiveness. And so yes, perhaps acknowledging and respecting who and WHAT got you there.

Thats just my interpretation, but I didn't write any books about it, i just absorb information, or energy.

I'm a believer. If I had doubts before they're gone.

I just went on a big and convoluted trip involving several people. A couple of weeks before the trip I started focusing positive thoughts on how the trip would play out and focusing on getting to experience each item on our itinerary. At the last minute all of these negative factors came into play, the biggest being Hurricane Ike, and threatened our plans. I remained positive throughout, believing everything would just unfold for our best throughout the trip.

And it did. And it was incredible. It was like every door opened right up for us and whenever it seemed like we would hit a roadblock, the way would open with even better results than we expected. Remembering the advice in this thread, I would just acknowledge the wonder of everything going so well our way, and respond with gratitude and await the next good thing. Having that mindset made this one of the best and most relaxing trips I've ever taken.

You pre-paved your trip by sending out positive-thought. Always works, no matter how bad the circumstances seem. Good job

Thank you, Skyfloating, for your comment there, and for all of your advice.

I really like your siggy quote.
As a writer, I've always thought of my stories and characters as born of my imagination. Your siggy made me stop and ponder that further.

I used to be like that...
Every step I took was a step within sight of paradise.

That was before I became aware of it.
Apparently I don't like myself well enough to trust the existential validity of my own Self, of my own life.

But - contrary to appearances
- I am not writing this so we can talk about me.
I just wanted to say that you expressed it very well.

And also that there ARE a few major pitfalls in the path of conscious creation.

But I trust you like yourself better than I do myself, so you won't falter.

Would you (or anyone else) care to elaborate on these pitfalls? Is this akin to "use your powers for good and never for evil"? I do like myself and have strong moral and ethical standards, but I'm also a newbie at this and don't claim to fully understand.

Sorry, I have no pitfalls to report.
Feeling low helps show me Im misaligned with my souls purpose and helps me get back on track.

That's encouraging. Thank you.

Edited to add:
As I ponder all of this, I keep thinking about the scene in The Matrix when Neo puts up his hand and the bullets stop and fall to the ground. Maybe I'm just showing my sci-fi geekiness here, but isn't that a picture of LOA? Is there a correlation?

I think of it like that sometimes as well. I think it's a very apropos metaphor for creation.

I must say that since I read this thread at the beginning of this year and have purposely employed the knowledge contained therein, my life has improved exponentially. And there is no way it's coincidence. I don't believe in coincidence anymore.

I'm so close to having things that seemed absolutely impossible to have, being places I thought I'd never see, and living the life. Not to mention the things that have already been fully achieved in this time.

Instead of putting my hand out to stop the bullets, my personal metaphor would be in the X-men movies when Magneto (or maybe Professor X) walks out over some kind of precipice and he draws these metal tiles to himself that form a walk way right under his feet, and walks on it as naturally as on a sidewalk. I am certain that when I put my foot down there will be something solid underneath it.

p.s. Don't worry, clearly you're not the only nerd

Oh, that's a great image! Much better than being shot at.
And woohoo for not being the only nerd here, ha!

It's encouraging to hear how well this is working for you. I wish you continued goodness in your life.

My Goodness, this thread just keeps on growing exponentially!
I submit a query to the thread...which has "sort of" been asked before:
What have WE (collectively as a society), done to ourselves that we (as a planet) are now in the proverbial poop?
I live with the LOA, to the best of my abilities, I make decisions based upon factuality, not causality, ah.. but I am one woman, not Legion.
Does our collective Psyche NOT have anything at all to do with the "gloom and doom" we know find ourselves in as a Planet? Where and when do we ( or CAN we) draw the line and say "stuff happens"?
I DO know better; I know all of the flotsam and jetsam is simply baggage...baggage that now threatens to completely jam up whatever "good" those of us that are aware have attempted to create.

Skyfloating, I really wanna know...are WE worth it? Can we make a difference in total, or just in our own circle...? Before I get so completely disillusioned that I throw my hands up in utter confusion...

Any thoughts, Thread?
Be Well.

A practical exercise for a change

In real life Im more a fan of practical application than talk. Here´s on I sometimes use:

Write the following questions on a small card that you can carry with you in your pocket:

Question 1: Where has my attention been up to now?

Question 2: Where could my attention be now (of the millions of options that exist)?

Question 3: Where would I like my attention to be now?

Pull this card once in awhile throughout the day and answer the questions. Keep it in your pocket for at least a year. It will transform your life.

Thats a question Ive answered for myself with a definite and huge "yes". And its a question I cannot answer for you. You really do have to find out for yourself.

Hi althea.

I'm by no means an expert, but in my experience and in my opinion, the planet being in a state of 'doom and gloom' is completely subjective. And being subjective, you may not only see the world as you choose but change it at your will. It is, after all, your world. So do you prefer doom and gloom or progress and happiness?

That being said, I would posit that our collective psyhe has contributed to the majority of the planet being better off than it ever has been. Since most people are doing relatively better than they had been, they continue to make the world a happier, more advanced, better place.

Also, Skyfloating recently demonstrated in the debate forum that the world is undoubtedly getting better rather than worse, although he is way to modest to bring it up himself. Check it out here..

So, I'm on vacation currently, and I was just playing some cards at a casino... I noticed something interesting.

Our table was running a little 'hot' -- people were winning more hands than not, pulling in quite a bit of money. The mood was quite good.

Noticing this, I believe, the 'pit boss' in charge of the table sauntered over, and then asked, in a offhand tone, "Is it getting a little cold in here"? Casual conversation. A few people at the table thought about that a little, then replied to her something along the lines of 'huh, maybe a little', etc. She then gave a little smile and a knowing nod and moved on.

Now, at casinos, 'hot' and 'cold' have quite different meaning that mere temperature. And, indeed, the table did 'cool off' a little. Seemed to me that the pit boss deliberately set to 'break the flow' and cool things off a little, and I did notice it have some effect. Me, I was thinking 'well, that suit probably makes the temperature feel a little different for you'

So, while I have no doubt that casinos pay strict attention to statistics, math, etc., they also are not above a little dabbling in non-mainstream techniques, too. Can't hurt, eh?

Question is, was what I noticed LoA or NLP, given that not everyone she was speaking to was necessarily aware of her second meaning?

Haha, casinos are not above dabbling in breaking your legs in the supply room, so I definitely don't think they're above a little metaphysical work.

I think the real question is, did the pit boss understand the depth of the technique she was using to break up the mood and thus break the winning streaks of the players? Or did she just know that if she came over and suggestively interrupted the mood that it would have the desired effect, without knowing why or how this would be achieved?
