I wasn't aware until recently that there is a growing fad among some people in some areas of the U.S. (as well as in England) of launching SKY LANTERNS to celebrate certain occasions.
It is quite fascinating. They almost could be confused as clusters of UFOs!!

Not really, when a 'real' UFO takes off at high speed or performs unusual manouvers I think we can safely rule these out. However its a pity the skeptics are gonna use this more & more to debunk the real ones.

Whatever makes u feel "safe" eh...

Nice find Norio, I think you may havejust given the government another explanation to UFOs that most certainly aren't sky lanterns. This would explain some of the orangish UFOs seen

Skylanterns cannot :

Hoover on one position for a long time
Do impossible moves at high speeds
Change in size
Fly in formation
Be chased by military planes
Appear and re-appear in existance
Tease pilots
Show up on radar
Be visually recorded from/in space

Now we have the denial list complete.

Weather phenomenon:
Flying with superspeed thru the clouds@ o hare airport.

Flying formation in 2 groups for 10 minutes long.

Which pulsates and moves from left to right.

Killing whistleblowers:
William Colby , William Cooper and so many more.

Passing a passenger jet at level flight opposite direction.

Misidentified Aircraft:
In a triangle shape with 4 glowing energy generators beneath moving slow or fast with no sound.

Doing a dance in the sky while chased by jetfighters.

Just doesn't exist:
When a airline pilot describes on radio 300 feet long cilindrical object with a strobe which moves counterclockwise flying very close next to him.

I just saw a UFO but i don't believe in ufos because of my religion.

Mainstream Science:
I don't believe in UFOs because i don't wanna loose my job. Personally i am very interested in UFOs or Psychic Phenomenom PRIVATELY

Doing a smooth right angle turn while doing 20.000 miles an hour.

And now!!! New!!!

Lanterns: Changing colors while doubling in size. Now at your local store.

Am i too cynical?

Great post I couldn't agree with you more.

Now sky lantirns will be attributed to UFO sightings for the past 40 years..maybe Roswell was a GIANT lantirn that crash in the farm, and the bodys where merely cardboard cut outs!!

Skeptics line up and prepare to be punched..(imaginatively speaking of course..)

Edited quote of post directly above

What goes up, usually must come down. So, aren't these ever recycled?
I'm surprised that they don't burn up. They must be fire retardant.

What makes you say that?

Most acknowledge that something like 95% of UFO sightings can be identified as
natural phenomena or terrestrial objects. Some of the government's explanations are ridiculous i.e. swamp gas, no doubt. It's that other 5% that makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck......
