no one said it was in a cashless society. Even if things got that bad the black market will still be going strong. Once you become active in this culture it will not be as hard as one might think to acquire the items that you need. There will always be a method of payment that can be acquired and bartered. As much as the govt. would like to eliminate any form of trade without there approval and knowledge it will be almost impossible to do so.
