The beast of the Book of Revelation intruded into the banter of the House of Commons on Thursday when a motion calling for the disestablishment of the Church of England was numbered 666.

The motion simply states: "That this House calls for the disestablishment of the Church of England" - in other words ending its status as the country's legally established, official faith.

Wow, this is unusual.

Not the fact that the number 666 is involved but the proposed abandonment of a religion.

I wonder how all the church of England members will feel about this.
If this goes ahead, millions of people will actually not have a religion or churches to go to practice their faith.

"go to a catholic or protestant church" I hear you all cry, well, that is not the point. Effectively they are different branches of the christian faith, just as is mormonism and the like.

What a kick in the teeth for God.. I can only laugh really.
