What is Ron's greatest challenge?

Media blackout.

Nobody... sans bloggers, have any idea who he is. And with our state controlled media, nobody (amongst the non-blogging masses) gets a chance to hear his message. Any time he does make it to faux news... they talk over him and belittle his ideas with banter.

at the laundry mat... you hear the banter
at the bar... you hear the banter
at the corner store...

So how does one change that? I can bet you a podcast or continued blog support at PTS isn't going to help.

So... Lets try something NEW.

Put your home audio speaker in your open window...
Face the speaker OUTSIDE of your box...

Connect your PC to your stereo...

Dial up your favorite Google video of a SPEECH by Ron.

Crank up the volume.
PRESS PLAY.

Better yet, stick your big screen TV out on your front porch!

Do you have a pumping system in your low rider? Do you support Ron?

Burn some audio of your favorite speech to CD...

Drive to "the big asphalt parking lot" or downtown intersection near you... during a busy hour of the day... park 'n play!

do you own the bar?
do you own the laundry mat?

LET THEM HEAR RON SPEAK.

-------------------------------

AND WHAT WILL I DO IN EXCHANGE?

-------------------------------

Now... I like Ron... I think he is genuine guy. And I really like his eloquence and stability of character.

If I was a voter, knowing what I know, believing what I believe... I would vote for RON.

But I REFUSE TO VOTE.

I boycott on several grounds; four of which:

1) No current separation of Media, Corporation, and State.
2) Electronic Voting.
3) I refuse jury duty on religious grounds.
4) Felony Marijuana Possession means you cannot vote in the USA; not that I am a drug felon.

My pledge to you:

What I WILL DO...

If 50 ATS members, with at least 1000 ATS points each, PLEDGE to stick a speaker out of their window and broadcast

30 MINUTES OF RON

once a week... from NOW UNTIL NOVEMBER.

THEN I WILL BROADCAST RON TOO.

Yamaha Amp and Klipsch Speakers in full glory, 30 minutes weekly, downtown USA; in full contrast to the car horns, sirens, and helicopters.

------------------------

Let this thread be the "meet up" where:

1) We discuss who is "in"
2) We log what was broadcast and when.
3) We suggest Ron audio and video for broadcast.

Only through direct action of The People can the State Media cartel fall.

I am at the will of the first 50 pledges.

"If you want something done right. Do it yourself."

I AM the media,

Sri Oracle, the mighty pen in the dawn of the post-petroleum era.

THE exercise of the Will, or the lesson of power, is taught in every event. From the child's possession of his several senses up to the hour when he saith, 'Thy will be done!' he is learning the secret, that he can reduce under his Will, not only particular events, but great classes, nay the whole series of events, and so conform all facts to his character.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

You should make up your mind absolutely never to defer what ought to be done at some time, and may be done immediately. The moment you think of a matter which you wish to attend to, proceed instantly to do it. If it is impossible at the time, charge your mind with it again, state why it must be done, and when you will give it attention. Do it then at almost any cost. You are fixing a habit of recollection, and this is worth all inconvenience.

Oh silencing the voice of people with opposite viewpoints are we? Sounds a little hypocritical considering the nature of this topic wouldn't you say? But then again, what isn't hypocritical about most Paul supporters?

Honestly, do you think this would actually help?

Because from where I'm sitting, if I'm an undecided voter, the lat thing I want is someone else's opinions shoved down my throat via obnoxious noise pollution.

If you want people to hear about Paul, do it in a respectful, civilized manner. This will only turn more people off to Ron Paul. (Not that I mind)

Please Walking Faux, your drivel about Paul being racist is getting old. He has thoroughly repudiated the offending newsletters, most recently today on CNN's Situation Room. He did not write it, he did not say it, he does not endorse it, and he does not think it. In his words: "I am the anti-racism candidate."

Now if you cannot offer PROOF of your accusations I will kindly ask you go away, you bother me.

My linguistically troubled friend, perhaps you would better serve your time to read here:

wikipedia: we
en.wikipedia.org...

or here:

wikipedia: clusivity
en.wikipedia.org...

We (IPA: /wiː/) is the first-person, plural personal pronoun (subject case) in Modern English.

As in "WE THE PEOPLE"

ROn Paul supporters, putting their big screen TV's on hte porch? B-but, those fleet-footed mostly criminal black people without rational political thoughts might steal it! Dr. Paul says so!

The incident you speak of is the "Ron Paul Newsletter Scandal"

en.wikipedia.org...

While the newsletters were published under Paul's name, he disavowed the writings in a response to the New Republic article.

There is a thread here to speak about that subject:

www.abovepolitics.com...

enjoy throwing mud...

I am here to do positive things and I ask the same of you if you wish to participate in this thread.

Besides. Isn't using YOUR resources to help OTHER people socialism?

No... Using one's resources to help others is LOVE

...Don't tell me. We still isn't talking to me, is We?

We would prefer you stuck to the topic of the thread, as is the custom here at the Above Network.

Topic Being:

1) We discuss who is "in" for a weekly 20-30 minute broadcast.
2) We log what was broadcast and when.
3) We suggest Ron audio and video for broadcast.

Please obey your local noise ordinances! And by all means, have fun.

ps. Sri Oracle thinks speaking in third person sounds about like this.

The ATS T&C are 100% in effect here.

This is worth mentioning for a couple of reasons:

1. Because ATS does not allow "recruiting" or advertising. You can't use PTS for networking or recruitment in a political effort.

Ok.. I do not post to PTS much.. I just read this in the T&C for the forum

Looks like this will so get trashed...

Give me one last post please... to redirect my thread.

And in his words, Bill Clinton didn't diddle an intern. Name me a politician that's going to talk white power in an interview or something, seriously. What I find tiring is the Paulites' insistence that he really IS the second coming and anyone who thinks he's a fruitbat is just a closet nazi.

Sri,

You were the only person posting. You are not a plural. Thus you should use the word "I". "We" when self-referencing is restricted to crazy people and imperious nobility. 'Course being a Ron Paul supporter, you could certainly qualify for either.

Just a little public service announcement for everyone, so there's no confusion:

The same terms and conditions that we have known and loved since forever on ATS are still in effect here.

The topic for this thread (speaking quite generally) seems to be the relationship between the Ron Paul Campaign and the Media. That is a legitimate topic, and it can be discussed by anyone, whether one loves or hates Mr. Paul.

Please be topical and please be courteous, but you are welcome to discuss the topic whether you love or hate Mr. Paul. There probably will be controversy and that is OK, as long as there are not personal attacks or attempts to undermine or derail topical discussion. I reitterate that both sides must be allowed to express themselves, so long as they are on topic.

If you would like to continue to organize an effort to help Mr. Paul, rather than discuss the general idea, I believe that the appropriate course is to handle that effort in an alternate venue, and to ask one of the Amigos for permission to provide a link to that venue.

Last but not least, I must insist that moderation be handled by moderators. We're a button click away if anyone needs us and we will attempt to solve any problems without a big drama fest.

Have a nice thread guys

You are NOT even a VOTER????

Is that not a phenom of Paul? Attracting the juvenile crowd of internet junkies?

And no dissenting opinions? Does that mean your stance is so weak as to not support defense of it?

I seem to find more and more than most Paul supporters are of this nature Semper.

They preach to everyone about Paul being the answer to bring people together and end the bipartisanship. They preach to everyone about how high and mighty they are with their innovative ideas to "save the country." Yet at the same time they refuse to hear the opinions of people who disagree with them. I find it to be a very basic case of hypocritical behavior. The same kind of behavior they claim to be so adamantly against.

And just a quick question for the OP about this. You responded to my first post by saying "We aren't talking to you".

Well, considering I am someone who has no intention of voting for Paul, shouldn't I be?

I mean what good does preaching to other preachers do?

Sorry to be a nuisance here but there are 2 problems
with that scenario (speakers blasting in window) in the location
where I live:

1) There is a noise ordnance law (county) which prohibits
such disturbance such that I can get arrested, jailed and fined
for doing what you request.

2) Even if I could get away with the noise ordinance, my closest
neighbor is 2 miles down the road and he already is a RP supporter
and the next neighbor lives 5 miles away. I would need a lil help
from NASA's sound system to reach that far away .... LOL
can somebody say 1 Million watts to carry that message. Plus,
I'd be deaf in my own home from running it loud enough to do any
good for RP. It's just not realistic for some of us.

so in order to help RP the best, I think the boxes and banners
at intersections and stop signs is the best I could do. As I'm not
going to jail OR go deaf to get anybody elected president.

Although they are free to express themselves, I am going to ignore the naysayers; I am just not really intersted in debate on the subject, nor am I interested in swaying the opinion of the internet crowd, nor readdressing the reasons why I (30-something homeowner/businessowner) choose not to vote. Thanks. Its wonderful that ye-the-naysayer knows about Ron. Its also wonderful you have formed an opinion of Ron. You are not the target of broadcasting, nor my target audience in this thread. But thanks for reading along and sharing your pearls of negativity as I "preach to the other preachers".

I am also going to ignore my original statement of no broadcasting until 50 other people are broadcasting; I'm the leader type. I encounter too many people in my daily life that do not even know who Ron is, let alone that the Federal Reserve is a private entity, etc. I aim to change that.

Boxes and banners my be best at getting someone into office (and that should scare you), but what I AM truly interested in... is granting people without access to Ron Paul's spoken word an opportunity to hear him speak; preferrably before November. Free to anyone passing and regardless of who is the newly elected potus.

I purchased a used LCD projector today through ebay. 1000w 8 foot screen for $75 delivered.

When it arrives and my techie friend has a chance to show me how to hook it up (should be simple) I will make my first broadcast on a Friday or Saturday evening:

Ron Paul - America The Beautiful
video.google.com...
10 minutes

Followed by:

Ron Paul - A New Hope
video.google.com...
9 minutes

I will be broadcasting after dark but before our city's noise ordinance takes effect. Screen and speakers on front porch, loud enough for passers by...

no louder than my neighbors play their music.

No organizational efforts here... just an update on what I am doing in my personal life.

The topic for this thread (speaking quite generally) seems to be the relationship between the Ron Paul Campaign and the Media. That is a legitimate topic, and it can be discussed by anyone, whether one loves or hates Mr. Paul.

Specifically, Independent Audio/Video Media

The topic stands... this is a place to report (and apparently comment upon) the activity of any independent microscale broadcast media in audio/video format of Ron Paul speeches.

1) Are you (or will you be) broadcasting Ron Paul Speeches from your home or car?
2) When and how often?
3) Which speeches are you or do you recommend broadcasting?

It seems (to me anyway) the Ron Paul Campaign is gaining independent media coverage on front porches in downtown America.

So mote it be.

Bless your heart Sri Oracle, for trying to find a way to get out a true conservative message. I see that you have already become "labeled".
Don't let it bother you. Creativity has been a part of the campaign strategy from the beginning.

I find it heartening that so many so-called "juveniles" have become part of the effort. These "juveniles" have a stake in this too. They'll be part of the next crop of soldiers for McCain's hundred year war. They deserve to be heard, even if they can't vote.
"juveniles" are the future of this country, and have not yet relinquished their courage to be heard. Unlike the older Status-quo who have just given up, to do whatever Fox news tells them to do

The extreme anti-Paul rhetoric speaks volumes about the average person's aversion to real change. I also find it interesting that a large portion of Paul naysayers aren't really advocating any other candidate.

This morning's visit to Google Video has inspired me to continue working on this thread as often as possible through November.

Here's why....

Go to google video, type "ron paul" and sort by date.

Two weeks ago the first 5-6 pages were speeches and commentary about Ron...

but now..

He's been spammified

xxx tits sex anal virgin gay ron paul britney spears porno naked

There seems to be phenomenon developing to use Rons name to make your video shoot to the top of the charts, and whether politically purposeful or not....

It is burying Ron's speeches, to the tune of 35 pages a day of spam videos with Ron Paul's name attached...

So as my public service... I will be using this thread to sort through the garbage and give YOU direct access to bookmarked, broadcast worthy, speeches...

Here are a few more recently added videos of worth, which, I have found:

My projector arrived!

We did a private viewing last night "on compound", that is I invited all of my tenants over to watch some political documentaries and Ron Paul speeches in my living room against a large canvas. I even toted the church pews in from the front porch!

Here is a list of what we watched (in order):

That would be CACI agents torturing civilians, Halliburton charging 45 dollars for a six pack of coca-cola, and Blackwater lobbying for billions after their Fallujah mishap, etc. enjoy!

and then we ended with:

Ron Paul - Why Are Americans So Angry?
49 min - June 29, 2006 - (224 ratings)
video.google.com...

That was Ron (before he was running for POTUS) testifying before congress about the angst felt by the american people towards the current administration, the illegal war, patriot act, destruction of individual liberty, etc.

It approached midnight as Ron's written speech came to a close and most of my audience finally headed out...

I think I swayed a few voters that had never heard Ron speak before

Then, and this is really off subject... but the last lingering tenant asked me about vegetarianism. She said she needed some reinforcement and asked if I knew of any slaughterhouse movies....

Slaughterhouse - the Task of Blood (BBC)

No better movie to watch before you go to sleep if you're trying to ditch the meat junkyism.

I have to iron out some technical difficulties (I can't get my monitor and projector to display at the same time)... but once smooth I will have a white sheet of plywood out of the front porch with projector a blazing!
