Although you have a valid point, it really comes down to urban vs. rural demographics. Those in urban areas are less likely to vote based on race I
believe, and 79% of people in the US live in urban areas. This is also apparent in the Red States vs. Blue States. If you look, the Red States are
mostly rural states and the Blue States more urban. Therefore, I think that although race will play a big part in the Red States, it will play a much
smaller role in the Blue States. As for the Toss-up States, I think it will come down to issues, as recently seen in the polling in Michigan, Ohio,
Florida and Pennsylvania, which now have over 50% favoring Obama.

This questions sickens me and the inference the same.
Not voting for Obama is just as rasist for voting for him because he is black. they are the same racism on opposite ends. I suggest more will vote
for obama because he is black then will vote against him because he is black.
I am a conservative so no way can i vote for obama.
The real question and the opposite of your question is the truth that is racists and true.
Why are blacks voting for Obama in the 95%. Now that my friends is racism.
This FUBU labal ( for us by us ) this take care of us and mines of the blacks is the greatest form of racism. Look operah should have been a hillary
supporters but race over powered that.
So why dont you answer and confess your own reasons instead of pointing fingers of racisms this way. Whites dont have community leaders or college
funds or caucuses or advancement organizations.
Your question to whites makes you the highest form of racist and a bigot.
Furthermore Blacks make up only 12% of the population and make up the 11% of the vote in the 2004 elections and 2008.
given that most blacks blindly voted for Obama then how did he get elected?
the answer is white voters. The idea that hillary and obama was close meant that whites not blacks gave your obama the win.
It is not white guilt either there are many white socialist dem's who love obama actually for substance and his platform.
Thats a smart voter informed voter who votes for obama for his plan, thats in a sharp racist contrast where as blacks vote for obama not because of
his platform or agenda or plan they vote for him because he is one of them one of us.
Many polls, interviews on tv and studies and the data shows when tested that blacks didnt know specifics of obamas background or platform, whites how
ever were very knowledgeable and choose obama.
So go ahead to the uninformed racist who vote for obama because he is black. just remember he will not get elected with out the white vote.
So maybe you should not be asking about alleged racism which blacks obsess about but only exists on their side not on the white side. you should
explain why your position. why your a racist and be honest and dont say becuase obama will change things either.
oh yeah you should also thank whites for fighting and dieing in the civil war, passing civil rights, and helping obama get elected.
i for one would like to see an MLK color blind society but the true racist ( the blacks ) wont benefit from it.
PS - Obama is half white also so he isnt a true slave descendant african American black.

No it isn't. In 2000, 90% of African-American voters voted for Gore. In 2004, 88% of African-American voters voted for Kerry. This is a maximum of
a 7% difference, based on your assumption of a 95% rate for Obama, which is statistically insignificant. African-American voters are usually
Democrats, and Obama is the Democratic Nominee. To say that the only reason they are voting for him is because he is black, however, is
racist.

I did not call you a racist, I said that the statement is. Big difference.
As for the primary demographics, those were also split by age. Older African-Americans supported Hillary, while younger African-Americans supported
Obama. This was true across the whole voting spectrum.
Also, why not? For the first time they can finally look their children in the eyes and honestly tell them that they can be anything they want to be
including President of the United States, something White parents have always been able to say. Larry King asked Chris Rock the same question, and he
replied that it was the character of the man that made the difference. "It's not like it's Flava Flav!"

This thread acts as if blacks are not capable of being president. I'm more worried about voting for the wrong candidate then what race he or she may
be. If race plays any factor in who you vote for then your voting right should be revokes. This is not rocket science!
Whether he/she is white, black, or hispanic all that matters is their qaulification...

That is the most racist piece of garbage i have ever heard, " look young black child you can be president also it wasnt possible till obama now you
can be president."
what a racist put down they should be telling them that anyway. there is nothing wrong with blacks and they are capable of doing anything anyone else
can.
that is a sick statement of limiting your children. they should be tought that color doesnt matter and color blindness.
Here is a damn news flash #1 obama isnt all black half white, so according to you thats just half way there right?
#2 and the most important of all us whites are not related at all for your damn info. i am all french my wife is all english we both are americans
but our heritage hardly is the same infact going back how did we get married at all with the history of our two countries.
white people are highly divers from one another we only share that the majority of Americans are white due to our history of coming to america.
So now you understand that whites are all different and these days we are the hiens 57 variety mixed up.
Obama is just a man and all presidents have been men no accomplishment. Now if a women became president that would be significant there has never
been a women president or vice president.
you better tell your children that race doesnt matter and they can be anything, no limitations, tell your sons and dughters that!!! Tell them whites
are all different also and its not us vs them.
lastly tell them slavery was wrong but tell them how slaves built america, tell them many white folks fought and died for them to be free and for
their rights. Tell them also to thank GOD for slavery becuase GOD used a bad thing to bring blacks to the greatest nation on earth.
i have been to liberia africa i know africa, you dont want to live there. I have seen first hand what slavery has saved you from.
GOD used slavery for good and now you live in the greatest country on this earth.
Thank You GOD for Slavery and saving the american blacks from the hell of africa they are truly a lucky people.
America is glad to have you now start acting like your part of this country as GOD wanted it and stop segregating your selves and dividing your selves
away.
Stop this african american mentality and say thank you to GOD and to the many white people who helped you be free.

Um, dude, I am white. You are taking this waaaaaaaaaaaay to personal. Also, you might want to look a little closer at American history. In politics
there has been a 'glass ceiling' for anyone who is not a white Protestant male since the creation of this nation. One way or another, it gets
broken this election. Women didn't even get the vote until August of 1920, and blacks got the vote in 1870, but most in Southern States did not feel
safe exercising that right until the civil rights movement in the 1960's.
Now how about we get back on topic, which is 'are whites scared to vote black'?

I don't think whites fear for voting Obama. I do know there is another unfortunate reason why they wouldn't. I hear it all the time at work and it
really upsets me. His race is the issue, and they put it in such a disgracful way.
If you cant vote for the right reasons you should not be voteing. Our nation is in trouble so we need to vote for who's the best candidate. This is
the United States of America where race should not be an issue. Vote for who is best for the job...

Our nation is in trouble so we need to vote for who's the best candidate. This is the United States of America where race should not be an issue.
Vote for who is best for the job . . .
There is a story in this week’s NY Times Large Print Weekly, which confirms anecdotally that many whites are reluctant to vote for Obama based on
his race alone. Some whites in a religious setting recite a verse in the Bible that says “be one thing or be the other” but be not a new mixed
breed. He took that to mean being half white, half black is BAD. Another college campus white kid said Obama would “replace the Rose Garden with a
watermelon patch.”
I started the thread “Clinton? Obama? Or Edwards? Who Will it Be?” on 7/18/07 and which now has over 35,000 views and 0ver 1,000 replies. I have
written in that thread that it is my personal belief that if Obama was a white guy named Smith, he would be 15-20 points ahead of John McCain. As it
is, Obama is about 6-8 points ahead. I would have to conclude from that, assuming I am right about my guesstimate, that race has cost Obama half or
more of his otherwise expected lead. If 50 million voters choose him, then about 5 million more would have voted for him but for his race.
I time share a lake house in central Georgia with others, all of us being white. One of my friends is like me, he will vote GOP regardless who runs. I
will vote Dem even if there is a yellow dog on the ticket.
Hence, in KY where I’m from, I’m called a “Yellow Dog” Democrat. I explain I am a party man. Men come, men go, but the Party goes on. I favor
the minimum wage. The GOP does not. I favor the capital gains tax, the estate tax, the GOP does not. I favor getting out of Iraq now, the GOP does
not. So why would I ever vote for a party that does not stand for things I stand for? Am I a fool? Do I not know my own self-interest? For me, voting
the straight Dem ticket is a NO BRAINER.
The Republican Party has a disgraceful record on race. Unlike Harry Truman who integrated the Armed Forces and who risked losing the 1948 election
over his Civil Rights position, Eisenhower regularly played golf at Augusta’s famous golf course which banned Negroes because of their race. Richard
Nixon had his “Southern Strategy.” That was expressed in code words. Nixon said he was opposed to Court ordered FORCED bussing. Gerald Ford did
NOT play the race card. Ronald Reagan had his famous Welfare Cadillac story he loved to tell and his audience loved to hear him tell. Bush41 had his
Willie Horton ad.
Anyone who is at all conscious of race in America knows Bush43 is strongly anti-black. A leading GOP luminary Jess Helms was nearly defeated by Mayor
Gant - a black - but Helms used the infamous anti-Affirmative Action ad to win. The sitting GOP senator from Tennessee Bob Corker, who beat
Congressman Ford using a disgraceful ad showing the black Ford at a Hugh Hefner party mingling with WHITE girls. A Tennessee No-No. The GOP has
accused Obama of being a Muslim which is doubly disgraceful. 1. He is not. 2. There should be nothing "wrong" with being Muslim in America.
(Remember it was Bush43 himself who first used the "Islamo-fascist" slur.)
The Dems DO NOT DO THIS. For that I am proud!
And one more thing. The Dems had the first Catholic on the national ticket. Al Smith in 1928. The Dems had the first woman on the national ticket.
Geraldine Ferraro in 1984. The Dems have the first African American on the national ticket, Obama in 2008. The GOP has remained white Protestant
throughout. That is surely no accident.

I'm a 55 white male and the reason I won't vote for Obama is he is a democrat, unqualified and too many skeletons in the closet,i'm against
socialist ideas my great grand parents left Europe because of socialism, and Joe Biden seems somewhat looney, and besides I wanted Ron Paul, and not
because he is white,he would be the true candidate

Probably not. Racism is endemic in America. I once said any white born before 1954 was a racist, but it looks as if that foul trait has been handed
down to their children and grand-children. Voting for Obama however could prove a good cathartic for those brave enough to take their medicine!

"Can whites be shamed into voting for Obama?"
When it comes to abusing American blacks most whites are very comfortable in doing that. Many whites are just plainly ignorant. But most whites KNOW
better but do it anyway. Hey, in their world, they gotta HATE someone!

I'm more afraid of voting in someone with little to no experiance, his way radical past and some of the company he keeps, and his supporters are very
biased and always bringing up the race card,I'm white and the majority of racist people I have met are black, starting from when I was a young kid,so
if there is to be equality I think that one side can't be pointin g a finger at one or the other, where there is a false line being drawn nothing will
change
