Mr. Rumfeld has stated that he can not recall the claim that Iraq could launch WMD in 45 minutes. This comes after the Bush administration has
heavily argued that Iraq was capable of severely harming the United States.
Rumfeld: "I don't remember the statement being made, to be perfectly honest."
Similarly, Tony Blair doesn't recall the capability assessment, despite that the assessment came from the British administration.
The reason why this matters is that this is a key claim, used by the UK, to justify the Iraqi war. Now the statement proves to be more than
embarrassing because no WMD have been found and efforts have been severed to find them.
