BTW, isn't that kind of dangerous and/or wrong to give out information to the public news about where he will be staying, when, how, what, etc.?

That’s what I thought.

Maybe he really does want someone to take a pot shot at him?

Or he is planning to go sight-seeing in a helicopter?

Well, there's enough content in this thread to help those poor writers in Hollywood get off to a fast start with next season's 24. That is, if they ever get back to work. If I didn't know any better I'd swear that Jerry Bruckheimer produced this thread. CSI:Jerusalem. Jeez.

Back on the seriousness of this news, dont you think Cheney would step in as Pres and use the new dictatorship type powers in a time of world crisis if something happened?

Jonathan Aitken's simple sword of truth and trusty shield of fair play would not help Bush

considering Laura saved him from choking to death on a pretzel,I dread to think of what could arrise on this visit with bigger threats

Could be worse,he might have been invited to go on a shooting weekend with Cheeny!

10,000 police????

That is probably a very big chunk of the entire Israeli Police Service.

I read somewhere that there are about 600 officers assigned to the London Metropolitan Police's Royalty Protection Group .... and I thought that was excessive! And that number only includes the personal protection officers, the regular officers assigned to the palaces and escort are another number.

By comparison the US Secret Service has only about 3,000 special agents and 1,200 uniformed division officers. The special agents also do counterfeit work and there are field offices all over the US and the UD officers also guard foreign embassies in addition to the White House and Vice President's Residence.

Bush's visit to Israel, PA set for January 9-11
By Reuters

U.S. President George W. Bush will visit Israel and the Palestinian Authority January 9-11, senior official Saeb Erekat said Saturday.

Haaretz.com

(my bolds)

There is that darned number again.

I don't know the whole thing is very odd. I mean I just don't understand the significance of doing this right now.

In terms of a possible "conspiracy" scenario, I'd say that a faked assassination attempt or success would set the stage for a major (and seemingly desired) conflict.

Adam Gadahn a.k.a Adam Pearlman, grandson of the late prominent Jewish urologist from Orange County, Carl K. Pearlman (who was also a member of the board of directors for the Anti-Defamation League) has already issued a warning.

'We Will Be Waiting For You'

American Al Qaeda leader Adam Gadahn told his followers to welcome Bush "with bombs and traps" upon his upcoming visit to the Middle East this week.

ABC news

When did he become an Al Qaeda leader? This guy just looks like a fraud.
This whole thing smells a little funny to me but I don't know.

I suppose we shall see.

Yeh does Israel even have that much police?

10k to just protect one person!! That’s just crazy…

Looks like Bush will struggle sight-seeing with 10k cops around him..

Yeh there could be a chance of that happening…

I mean how hard can it be to dress as an Israeli cop undercover and carry out the Dirty deed?

Dude, I gave you a star.

9-11 number...........makes you really think.

I agree something's probably being planned.

2008.09.10. (2008 + 1=09 + 1=10 or 2008+1=09+1=10+1=11) 8, 9, 10

Perhaps something will happen on the Jan 10th on his visit? Or Jan 11? Or Jan 9? Who knows...

Well, I connected the dots in a minute

1. Bush is visiting an unstable nation

2. Adam Ghadan urges an attack on Bush

3. bin Laden says extremists should spread jihad to Israel

It obvious they fear an Al Qaeda attack, and are taking the proper precautions.

We are running out of time for the Zero Year Curse to take effect.
This would be convenient ... for something to happen over there.

My money is still on the Zero Year Curse for him.
Just one year left for it to take hold.
(and I do think it will happen at some point in the next year)

According to Wikipedia the Israeli Police Force numbered around 30,000 in 2006 plus the 6,000 member Israeli Border Police and about 70,000 Civil Guard volunteers.

I would imagine that most of the 10,000 will come from the Civil Guard.

CNN was just reporting a few mintues ago that it would be in fact 30,000 Israeli/? police for Bush's visit. Overstatement or otherwise, that's one helluva security force for a "peacemaker". I'd have to guess they finaly realized his "popularity", regardless if it be 10 or 30K.

With sufficient mobility, it would seem he's got a guaranteed safezone/crowd regardless of venue. (?) ... replete with backslapping supporters.

Somehow a peacemaker requiring that extent of security draws question... 'least from me. (?)

All those cops/soldiers can't stop a few scuds or SAMs from coming in. The threat probably won't be on the ground - it's too well covered. I'd say to look for a BIG bomb from the air to come raining in and shake things up. - Just my guess.
