... a few bat hours later ...

Things are looking good...

But then I took a picture of the kitchen to show everyone what I'm working with here!! The worlds smallest kitchen...

Then I started to take other random pics around the flat and 5 mins turned into nearly 10... ARRRGGGHHH!

A little bit "Over Crispy" but never mind tasted great to me! And the turtles were plenty interested.

Cheers AD

That looks good ChiKeyMonKey, is that a mozzarella cheese you used ?

I have a really small kitchen to but it serves me well. I love that covered skillet you have, now I want one.

I also see you have the ingredients for turtle soup ready to go in that last picture.

Chikey, kudos to you for maximizing the space.

I used to live in Gibraltar, and my kitchen looked very similar, lol.

Those turtles do look tasty!

And AD...

Get your eyes of my Turtles the pair of you!! The cheese is some Australian crap, the Chinese are not big in to dairy, it's the best I can get locally. My wife got the skillet with her supermarket points, so almost a freebee!!

Gib, I've got a good friend that has been there for a long time now, Brit, Pompey supporter!

When did you leave?

Haha, good ole Gib...

I was there working for a sportsbook until Dec. 2006.

They used to make a spanish breakfast item, called "Tortilla de Patata"...

Its like a potato, egg and onion omellette.

Spanish men say, that if a woman can make a good one of these, she'll be fit to be a wife.

Here's link below, to get a rough idea what I am talking about.

I didn't really like Gib all that much, but these made it all worthwhile.
(You can't beat going to the Pub [The Underground] at 5 am either.... gotta love that too).

Ah man you bring back memories there!!

Had a few when I was in Cyprus (Aug 07) there was a shack!?! down on the beach near our villa the guy was a Cypriot and his wife was Spanish. Guess she made good ones then!!

Incidentally it was the last time I saw my mate from Gib.

Cyprus Pics

He's the guy sitting by the pool as the sun comes up over Napa. I would so love to go back there soon.

The food was awesome!!

Yeah baby! Cyprus looks awesome.

Even though I've travelled all over Greece, I never did make it down there.

It's funny that you found a connection between the tortilla de patata and your friend in Gibraltar... weird Parallels... Cyprus being Greek, me being Greek...

The universe is a whole.

P.S. Adding you as a friend Chikey Monkey.

I take baby new potatoes, and put them into a roasting tray, sprinkle with mixed herbs, black pepper and salt and plent of olive oil and cook slowly (about 150 C) for as long as they take, turning/shaking every 30 minutes or so to ensure a nice even crisp.

The result?
A crispy new potato which explodes in the mouth when chewed - yummy.

No lard monkey - sorry.

that's what i do - and it gets rave reviews everytime.

But if one has more time and wants a soft centre then boil the potatoes before baking.

Also, i serve a side of sour creme and mayonnaise mixed together. Makes a side dish of ordinary looking roast potatoes into something of a bit more luxurious.

I made a version of this recipe last night for dinner.
I made a LOT of them. nice and crispy on the outside, soft, almost creamy on the inside.

I've roasted potatoes before, but have never pre-cooked them first.
Absolutely delicious. There were no leftovers.
