Recently, I've been noticeing more and more 'alien' type shows on TV.

The vast influx of Alien propoganda - TV shows, movies, et al, has been quite prominent in this last year and to date.

More so, within these past few months.

Many old Sci-Fi re-runs have been taken off the back burner, and are coming back to prime time.

Have the public ratings (Sci-Fi, in particular) taken precidence? I don't know the answer to that.

For example:

In Ontario, Canada, these last few days, I've seen on TV (starting around Christmas time, and to date):

* Men in Black - 1 & 2
* Independence Day
* Predator - 1 & 2
* The Arrival pt. 2
* War of the Worlds

Don't forget the 'Alien vs Predator pt. 2 that debuted on Christmas day.

'Mars Attacks! is on tv RIGHT NOW, as I type this.

What do these movies have to do with the hollidays?

Has anyone else noticed this increasing 'ALIEN - theme'?

Uh Oh! Conspiracy... I am watching Independence Day right now.

I believe its just general interest (There have been Alien / UFO movies for years)

Also, remakes have been done in every genre.

BUT... I'm sure someone will chime in and say how they are conditioning us for the big arrival....

I was > < this close to doing that. Didn't want to start off right away with 'that one'.

But...now I know 'that one's' on your mind too?

What are the odds. Heh.

Hey Dulcimer?

Have YOU noticed a wee bit, more than usual, Alien traffic on the tube lately?

As I recall it is not uncommon for a lot of blockbuster movies to be played during the holidays. All the ones you listed are blockbusters.

Are you talking about network television? With a lot of people home for the holidays, it makes sense to put blockbusters on the television along with a lot of ads. More people to see the ads.

Nothing suspicious to me.

What about all the zombie movies lately?
Dawn of the Dead, Land of the Dead, Resident Evil 1,2, and 3. Zombie Honeymoon (Weird movie) Others I don't know off hand.
Then there were the crime movies before that, like Italian Job and Ocean's Several.
Nothing special behind it. Just groupings of films on TV.
