There's been a bit of activity on the higher scale of 4.0 and greater today since the 6.2 that Apex posted, just one or two more than norm, nothing significant just wanted to mention it.

It was a deadly quake. Actually, a series of quakes...

At least 39 people have been killed and more than 300 hurt in a series of quakes in Africa's Great Lakes region.

[---]

A powerful 6.8 magnitude earthquake rocked the region in December 2005.

that along with a 'swarm' of quakes along the US-Mexico border
is being reported on various websites on the 12 & 13th of february

here's the low down on just why there is an increase of seismic activity now

its a fact that a week prior & a week after an Eclipse...Which will be
20 February 2008, 10:01 pm EST
there are stresses on the crust of the Earth as the Sun-Earth-Moon
alignments become more straight in line.

Looks like it was a single large shock, since the trace seems to have died down rather quickly to the background.

This trace is from 440 km from the quake.

Probably nothing, but something to watch non the less, is a big one on the US west coast next???

All of this follows the Magnitude 6.0 - POTOSI, BOLIVIA
2008 February 16 14:45:11 UTC

are they following a natural pattern up the coast? Could the California Swarms be helping to relieve stress and preventing a "big one"??
