Omigosh ya'll , I can't beilve this! I just mentioned that it could be to in the other direction instead of towards Reno, guess what? At 148E longitude and 42N Latitude, a 4.5 at Kuril islands. The matching earthquake! I am gonna try this again! Be right back.

Ok here goes,

May 4th Oaxaca Mexico

4.6 mag @ 99W Longitude, 16N Latitude

This one already hit.

My prediction: Within 24 hours one will hit at Mariana Islands

Longitude 146E, Latitude 16N , magnitude will be 4.6

It is possible it may hit on the other side, if so it would be possibly these coordinates:

North Atlantic Ocean, longitude 45w, latitude 16N.

Lets see what happens!

I'm not sure that I'm buying your theory, but just for fun I'll tell you that the Marianas had a 4.8 already today. Maybe that was the first one and the Mexico quake was the second one. Also you have a better chance of the Marianas hitting than the North Atlantic, but I guess anything's possible...

I looked onto the USGS site, the one in Mexico hit at 5:21 am EST on May 4, the one in the Mariana Islands happened at 12:57 on May 4, I didn't see the Mariana one on the site I am using to get the coordinates I am using, but, although that blows my 'predicting' the Mariana quake, as it had already happened, the pattern is what I am pointing out. One hits and another hits within 24-48 hours on the exact same latitude, usually the same magnitude or very close.

I am imagining that what is going on is like a wave of energy, when it hits a wall, it turns around and goes back the other way. Or soemthing like that , I find it very hard to explain what I think I am seeing in this pattern.

Has anyone noticed a sulphur smell?

Please see a post from my friend below regarding this:

At Earthboppin.net Earthwatchers I found this info...On C2C I didn't know Stan Deyo was on before me or talked about potential magma-related cause of the Mogul EQ Sequence. This is what I was saying to the talk show hosts and on this thread. Two excerpts from the website:

From Stan:

Since I went on C2C I have received emails from people living in Mogul. From these emails I learned the USGS has been installing portable seismometers all around Mogul since the swarm began. Some of the seismometers are even in backyards of the people writing to me.

The presence of a sulphur smell to the south about 18 miles at the top end of Lake Tahoe adds concern about movement of magma closer to the surface. As I said on the C2C show, Mogul looks like the center of an old asteroid impact that has eroded over the ages OR it is an old volcano that went dormant a long, long time ago and has been eroded to its present levels.

Mogul may be a dormant volcano stirring.... MAY be..... This would be my primary concern over the cluster of temblors around Mogul.

1.8 magnitude earthquake rattles D.C. area
May 6, 2008 - 3:36pm
annandale earthquake 1.8
The epicenter of the earthquake was at 38.828°N, 77.234°W. (Google Maps Image)
WASHINGTON - A small earthquake struck the D.C. area Tuesday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey says.

The earthquake measured 1.8 on the Richter scale and the epicenter was 1 mile west-southwest of Annandale (38.828°N, 77.234°W), the U.S. Geological Survey says.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck at 1:30 p.m.

The rumblings rattled parts of Northern Virginia - including Vienna, Falls Church, Annandale, Baileys Crossroads and Lorton - around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. People in Silver Spring and Bethesda also reported feeling the quake.

There is no word on any damage.

Many people told WTOP they heard a loud boom during the quake. The U.S. Geological Survey says booms tend to occur more in the Northeast and along the East Coast and are sometimes sonic booms or man-made noise.

Scientists speculate booms are probably small, shallow earthquakes that are too small to be recorded, but large enough for people to feel, the U.S. Geological Survey says on its Web site.

Earthquakes with magnitude of about 2.0 or less are usually called microearthquakes, and may not be felt by people, the U.S. Geological Survey says.

Earthquakes are rare in the region, but not unheard of; the D.C. area experienced a similar earthquake in December 2003.

U.S. Geological Survey spokesman Bill Leith says it is not uncommon for a D.C. area earthquake to be felt 15 to 20 miles away from the epicenter. In California, a 1.8 magnitude earthquake may not be felt at all, Leith says.

Earlier, Ft. Belvoir officials told WTOP the rumblings were part of underground construction blasts at the base.

Ft. Belvoir officials said the construction work scheduled for 4:15 p.m. Tuesday began earlier than expected.

They later told WTOP the blasts did not occur and are still scheduled for later in the afternoon.

The blasts are part of the construction at Ft. Belvoir for the new National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. The agency is moving its headquarters to Ft. Belvoir and as part of the region's base realignment and closure project.

Ft. Belvoir officials say people may feel more rumblings over the new few days from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This is odd-- now they're having small quakes in southwest Reno.

quake.wr.usgs.gov...

SpaceCadet, I have a question for you-- on the USGS list of earthquakes, it shows latitude and longitude, but when I use Itouch.com to find the location in SW Reno, I get a point near N. Korea. Have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

quake.usgs.gov...

smaller quakes in reno area, but what concerns me is the location and magnitude of the last 2 today... sam exact location and depth, and magnitude.... tehre have been a lot of duplicate locations, since the area is only a couple miles wide, but I have not noticed the same locations back to back... and the majority of the quakes are now getting a little deeper....
They feel the same to me at home, I cannot get that "distinct thud", everytime... even less than 2.0

Earthquake total on this World Map is back up to 339 at the time of this post (over a one week time period -- the norm as I understand is more like 160-200)
