Reading these posts from everyone claiming they are ready for the truth reminds me of when my five-year-old tells me he's a "grown-up now" and can do all sorts of things on his own, though he's not near ready.

Great topic OP, i feel when the disclosure is finally revealed to the public that the people who have being on a more spiritual and self-evolving life journey will accept it more than those who have being on a materialistic monetary journey..

It is not my intent to insult, but do you realize that people who ARE spiritual are the ones desperately wanting to keep their religion? Whatever you do mean by saying "spiritual and self-evolving", that applies to christians, muslims and gnostics as well.

There would be a perchentage of people who would start following cults, cults would be born, some religious leaders would go haywire and start quotion book of revelation or something similar, if not christians.

This does not mean all the people of course, I have never said anything like that. Its just that goverments generally don't tell things that cause wide spread chaos and problems, even deaths, world wide.

I want disclosure but I also want a guarantee that it is done in a way that gives us all the answers we need.

You don't have to be in a religion to be spiritual, i am not in a religion but i still believe in a higher source of divine energy through my own inner cosmic and outer cosmic, conscious and unconscious experiences.. The spiritual self evolving ones i refer to are the ones who spiritually evolve without religion or distractions these are the ones who will accept the disclosure more....my feeling is these spiritual self evolved people will become our true leaders of our species and take take us all to the next phase of our development..

Well remind yourself that everyone is not like your 5 year old kid and everyone has their own choices which is where they are in life now..

you are not being lied to about everything--the problem we all face is trying to figure out what is true and what is a lie/or a distortion of the truth--once that is established we know who not to believe or take seriously what they say--which is probably 90% of the people we meet, at the very least going by my experiences of 60+ years.

so are you saying there is your way of believing things and your belief in those particular things you believe in. That is by definition also a religion, so you are not better than any here, because you are pretty much preaching here.

Distractions and Meditation, not an ideal match

I couldn't agree more about distractions, but unfortunately, for me, these distractions have permeated my life in one way or another...Some of them Beneficial (like my family), and some not so much (living nearby airports or train tracks). But I do try to make the time, after all...if I didn't, I would probably slip slowly into madness...

I think it is fair to say that we types at ATS want disclosure, but only under certain terms and conditons based on our individual comfort zones.

I've had "encounters" of different kinds, and almost every time it happens, I nearly pop a gasket. But then, ETs can be very mischevious in how they operate.

For me, it all depends on "who" (which ET group or agenda) and "how". But even that would just be a side show.

sound like the OP has already decided what the "truth" is and if the government doesnt confirm it they must be lying

I think the truth may be technological civilizations are extremely rare. Or at least space travelling civs are extrememely rare.

If they are common and go about colonizing the galaxy theres been plenty of time to do it a couple of thousand times over yet earth has been untouched for 500 million years, no alien colonization. why not?

Really we're left with 3 choices

1. all tech civs destroy themselves before they can colonize
2. tech civs are extremely rare.
3. nobody has acheived an easy way to travel the stars

Another possibility that I think is more likely is that our planet doesn't fit their biological needs. Our atmosphere may be poisonous to creatures that have evolved in very different environment. There are a million reasons for a biological environment to be unhospitable.

Why don't the governments want disclosure? You may be ready. But how about the vast majority? The answer is quite simple. This is probably what would happen by a sudden official disclosure:

> The stock markets would crash around the globe resulting in a global melt down.

> Institutions of higher learning would come into question.

> History and religion would suffer the most damage causing social and psychological upheaval.

Another reason why there will be no disclosure is the need to keep alien technology secret as part of national interests.

In other words, there will never be a sudden disclosure, but a gradual one over a number of years or even decades, enough time for psychological conditioning of the population.

Cheers!

Yes, I do believe that there are other races out there that are entirely more advanced than we are, yes I do believe that they might have the ability to use time/space to travel impossible distances, and finally yes, I would hope that if they have a plan of some sort in the works for the human race, that it will involve regular open dialogue with citizens AND bodies of government.

As far as our government, what has the government done for us that says we should trust their motives implicitly? IMHO since the Gulf war began way back when, our great "chiefs" have had a one track mind, spreading their "democracy" to regions that never asked for it in the first place and unsuccessfully justifying occupation due to weapons that were never there in the first place that might be used against us.
By no means was the thread meant to become a flame & blame thread about the US Gov. or it's motivations. I think there are plenty of threads on the subject anyway.

Let us not get off-track with the hot topic of government right or wrong, just clarifying some of my views so this thread can keep moving in a positive direction.

Please continue, Peace

Personaly, I don't think we will be ready for full contact, never mind the disclosure that our governments have know of alien visitation, for some time.

Why?

Because we, as inhabitants of earth, by and large, distrust, are wary of and are intolerant to our own differences and beliefs, never mind those of extraterrestial visitors.

Here's why, IMO, I think we aren't ready;

Despite the vast amount of people who can, by choice, live in harmony with those of different religions, colour and political leaning, how many armed conflicts caused by intolerance are going on at the moment?

What about the civil upheaval and political turmoil, caused by intollerance and hatred, spilling blood in a country that is nuclear capable?

Religious bigotry being used as the cause for war and the stirring up of hatred for one of the world's major religion?
How exactly will the "War on Terror" be won?
Will the west simply bomb Islam back to the stone age?
You can't kill a religion that way.
Yet noone is willing to stand up and declare we should talk and not fight.

Parts of Africa starve and thousands die yet, apart from diplomatic rhetoric and charity collections, noone intervenes to stop it. At the same time, trillions are being spent on the military machine that is preserving access to the world's biggest oilfields.
Where's the humanity in that?
No humanity, just greed.
Africa won't benefit the major league nations.
The middle east will.

We're plauged by a drug culture that is growing exponentially. The amount of money gleaned by those who sell it is beyond reason.
It's probably the fastest growing business in the west.
Health services cannot keep up with the fallout caused by users.
Addicts add massively to crime.
The use of illegal drugs is costing every one dearly, yet we know where the crops are grown, and still we do nothing.
Are governments implicated in drug running?
Who knows.

The internet; what should have been the single most important means of education and communication ever invented, is used mainly for pornography.
We have the the ability to find, or at the very least cripple these sites, yet we do nothing.

A culture of aggresion and confrontation has swept up the young. Respect and care are now deemed as pointless exercises, while drinking and crime are things to aspire to.

And you ask if we're ready to be told that we're not alone in the universe?

This is a world that is rapidly becoming a spiritual vacuum. It seems to me that we are abandoning sense and logic, wonder and belief in favour of materialism and greed. Is this a world aliens would even want to expose themselves to?

It may seem that I'm painting an unholy picture of earth, whilst ignoring all of the truly magical facets it has. We're not entirely lost to the "dark side", but it does seem that there's more and more problems for us to contend with, whilst really happy global events are few and far between. We seem to have lost our way, and are being led to an uncertain future by predatory and manipulative forces.

Until there comes a time that we are able to find our way to being more tolerant and welcoming, not only are we not ready to hear that momentous news, IMO, we're not worthy of hearing it.

I submit to you part of the original posting that has led us this far to contemplate disclosure:

"...we are spiritual entities having human experiences."

That suggestive point is the very heart & soul of this post. If we are to accept that spirits are undying, singular, unique forms, that share this profound & mysterious universe with what may be a tremendous number of other entities, then...what have we? Perhaps a host of creation that range from good to evil, presumably governed by a higher being that obviously maintains strict order in the sense of all that is unimaginably complicated.

Many of these other entities have technologies that may surpass us by a million years or more, probably much more in fact.

The bottom line effect is that as spiritual entities ourselves, we will encounter all of the magnitude of this Truth at the point of our physical bodies demise.

How grand to dare to think of such an adventure.

Disclosure would be best for regular people but it would put into question the governments ability to hide secrets from the people. If the government was keeping these secrets then there must be even more secrets and that would cause a nation wide uproar.

The Bible says but first there will be a great falling away of faith. The world is there. The truth is a hard find today. Maybe that's why God said grace will save you through faith not works. Works or good deeds are the result of faith. Your faith will save you and your works will be counted as a reward, as I understand it. Look at the night sky and see the bright stars and the dim ones? People's works will shine and not all will be bright but all are promiced to be saved if you ask. Sin will be here until Jesus comes back.

Don't know why, but ever since I was a boy, whenever I was outside, looking up, I would be drawn to the constellation of Orion, and then the two stars that represent his sword...just read the word stars and thought I'd share that.

Well, for those of us who come here often, I'm sure you've seen the threads pertaining to October 14th. Could this be the disclosure that we (or I) have been waiting for. I guess there is only one way to find out.

And we wait...

Individuals may be ready for disclosure and contact, but the aliens aren't ready for us. We kill each other over differences of faith. We send in armies and kill and maim innocent civilians. If we can't stand each other, why would aliens want us around to cause trouble in space?
We have to stop the nonsense here and then we will see something happen.
