Privacy delays ad targeting on phones

It was just a matter of time before marketers would start assaulting us with adds on our cellphones. As for me I am opposed to having my phone crammed with adds I don't want let alone our currier's selling our personal info to the marketers.

They will most likely get away with it by stating there in no expectation of privacy on a cellphone while in public. The question begs to be asked, is there anyway that we could block the adds? I can just see it now, your having an important phone conversation and a marketer interrupts with "now a word from our advertisers".
