It's like a house that is really old and had years of termite damage. You can't fix it except to tear it down to the foundation stones and start over.

We need to go back to the founding of this nation, to the document on which it rests, and rebuild it, from the bottom up. You can't fix a stupid law here and there, or arrest a crooked politician once month. There needs to be a general and total overhaul to get America back to running in a sane and logical way.

The steak should have been cut into pieces before taking her lunch to school, then none of this would have happened. I think she should get life without parole for this. It's a shame that these ten year olds come to our schools with steak knifes knowing the zero tolerance laws. What other steaks was she gonna cut up that day ( sarcasm )

I do give a s#it. The least I can do is protest against the local council, who have made me have to drive at least 20 kilometres to a beach where I can walk my dogs, lest the vicious animals maul some innocent, doe-eyed beachgoer.

I saw this coming 25 years ago when I was in the Active military. this was an actual charge against a friend of mine "Suspicion of being in an area where Marijuana was suspected of being smoked". No cannabis was found, the drug test was negative, yet my friend was reduced in rank and fined $600 ( $300 for two months ) The Government uses the military to see what "legal" things it can get away with, then implements them on the civilian population.

This was the straw that broke the camels back for me, I decided then and there I would NEVER have children and I have not, it's the ONLY way to protect them

People need to get their kids OUT of the public eduction system. This crap is what happens when the government runs the schools. And every time a bill comes up that reforms the property tax code to allow the money to follow the children, people need to support it and demand theirs reps do also.

If people can keep their money instead of paying property rent to the county, they can afford private schools. I went to a private highschool, a Jesuit school at that. Without going into details I was on a first name basis with the dean. They knew how to handle matters: internally. The cops would even respect that, taking kids to the administration instead of arresting them.

No, Communism is an economic system much the same way as Capitalism is an economic system.

You can have a "closed", communist economy while still having democratic freedoms. Just as you can have an "open" Capitalist economy while having little to no democratic freedoms.

Socialist systems are rarely pushed on the people. Quite the oposite actually, they are usually the result of social and political agitation against those that have it all, at the behest of those that have nothing.

Fair wages, healthcare, occupational saftey, the 8 hour works day, child labour laws, these are the fruits of left agitation against an oligarchic state apparatus.

My friend, we may be on different sides of the political spectrum, but we both want the same thing, to live, work, procreate, and be happy. Must we battle over small differences of opinion?

On the topic: Carrying a steak knife is a crime? Last I heard it wasn't, which makes me wonder what the hell did they charge her with? Felony weapons charge - since when are steak knives considered weapons?

The public school system have become nothing more than re-education prisons for kids.

It's a little ridiculous that she was arrested, but then again, it's kind of stupid to take any kind of knife to school. I never had a steak at school, and I don't recall ever eating anything in a school lunch that needed a steak knife. I think the moral of the story here is probably don't take a knife to school and you won't get arrested for it. What if all the kids starting bringing steak knives?
