i'm not deluding myself. the end goal is a truly equitable capitalistic society, which would mean it takes some elements from socialism

This thread has expanded a line of thinking of unity and equality.

I think we can all agree, there are many jobs that NEED to be done but don't have the financing to provide the manpower to do it. So is the issue manpower? I should say not. Its actually our system that limits.

We have the work that needs to be done. We have the people in excess that can do the work. Yet the work doesn,t get done. So ask yourself why?

Are people too good to do the work? Is our system set up so that the work wont get done unless someone gets fed up and just does it for free or charity?

What system works where the people mobilize for the need of the people rather then the need of merely oneself?

Or do we feel good just doing need based band aid systems like Habitat for Humanity? The system should work for all, and not just for the few.

When you are born, our planet is divided into a form of geographic lottery in terms of your opportunity now days. I knew that when MIMS started this thread that he was taking on a hard line, and even though he and I dont meet eye to eye on the Spiritual side of things, in my heart of hearts, I realized within this thread that we do agree on some very important common ground.

Therefore, when you say to him:

I would caution you that you do not speak for the whole, but merely yourself.

In reading your signature resistor, I do agree with it:

Love, Truth, Equality and Justice for all? It seems to me someone walked the earth speaking of this. Common Ground brothers. Brotherhood and not borders, Love and not lines.

I support madness in his intent here, the question is how to get the whole to understand the good for the good of the whole.

Over the sands of time, we are from the one Body divided into many, yet should act as one body.

is that supposed to be an insult?

Your parsing of every word instead of taking arguments as a whole has worn everyone out.

i am taking arguments, i've yet to see an argument for why a one world government would be bad.

You'll get your one world gov, whether those of us who love freedom like it or not. Enjoy.

*facepalm*

one world governments and freedom aren't mutually exclusive terms.

It could never work in the face of ethnic nationalism. Its the driving force behind governments, wars, genocide, and most other organized societal events. People fall back or find comfort in their own ethnic identities and cling to them regardless if it is backwards or impratical.

As long as a German thinks in terms of being a German or a Thai hooker thinking in terms of being Thai, most people wouldn't be satisfied with a "one world government". People will always see one part of our global family receiving special treatment or some other gripe.

It is just too hard to maintain. Its why every great empire from Alexander to the Huns failed.

i agree. that's why i believe that we need to stamp out the concept of ethnic nationalism and move towards species globalism.

then we need to get rid of that primitive mindset.

...no, the problems there didn't lie with ethnic nationalism, it had to do with that whole "we're pissed off that we were conquered" thing...

those were empires, i'm talking about a global government by, of, and for the people

Exactly. Its Hierarchal, polarizing, ego driven pride.

Nationalism is a poison on the planet that has allowed and does allow oppression to be perpetrated in the name a political ideology or culture.

If we were to drop the borders today, there would I think, be those that would band together under a common pride and form again their own territory in the name of power.

POWER. the poison beyond money.

I defy anyone to go outside, and find a line unmade by man that has any countries name on it on the earth or otherwise that indicates personal ownership.

When you realize that there isn't, but want one to be, then you will see your nationalistic pride.

Peace

All these people that say it won't work is a product of fear. When we become no longer afraid to step across borders and out of our shells will we ever begin to live. This saddens me as a human who wants people to stop fearing the worse and begin living our lifes with confidence and new ideas.
