How has your Christmas been so far hon?

It's a very calm night up here in Ontario, Canada (Great Lakes area) 8:55pm and my guests/family have left my place for over 1 hour now. I'm relaxing...yes...RELAXING...typing to your thread right now.

If the song, 'Silent Night', was playing right now, I'd probably meld into it.

We had a wonderful dinner today. Exchanged pressies, and talked with each other. I was up at 7:30am and made ALL the goodies (love to cook).

It's been quiet. I'm not complaining, it's just a bit strange.

Very intuitive of you to ask though.

I'm at that point where all of my children have left the nest and are so happy about being free, they aren't really looking back yet.

I just wish they would give me some grandchildren, but so far the selfish little grumps refuse. You would think that at least one of the three would have an accident....Christmas is about the wonderful laughter of the children and I miss that.

Still, I'm enjoying the quiet time while it lasts

There will come a time, when my children will (more than likely) behave the same way hon.

Let me start off by saying:
I'm 41. My kids are 16 and 17. They probably will be staying with me for some time. Love them dearly.

When they move out...I most likely will feel the pangs.

How do I feel right now?

"Oh God...please let them stop fighting and bickering over this crap!!!"

"Oh God...please let them know that I mean the best for them!"

"Oh God, time is indeed short, please let me have the grace and wisdom that Mr. Wupy has to fill in my misconceived notions of an empty Ducky nest."

I'll be 'in your shoes soon enough hon'.

Somebody once told me that I should have been born 20 years earlier than when I was. Mabey...mabey not.

All I know is that I was born when I was, and am thankful for my family/kids/Christmas/and all that jazz now.

Mr.Wupy, always be the great person whom I respected from day 1, never hold back yer feelings, and continue to share your thoughts and feelings with us all. Because...I'm THEDUCKSTER, one of the biggest kids on line, with a big respect for my folks.
