Well that was put up real quick on youtube as the interview just
happened this morning. Thanks to the poster on youtube.
We don't have a Political forum selection on ATS so I posted
the interview here as there seems to be a conspiracy to shut
up and keep Ron Paul out of the MSM. So enjoy Tim Russert's
interview. There are 4 parts to this interview posted on youtube
but I won't post all 4 links as I'm sure you are intelligent enough
to find the other 3 from the related section at youtube.

Ron Paul interview on Meet the Press 12/23/07

I really hate to bring this up but I think it relevant
to the Ron Paul campaign.

Ron has stated on several occasions he would downsize
our federal government to a constitutional level. He has
stated all the things he wants to eliminate.

Ron Paul wants to eliminate:

Department of Education
The Federal Reserve
The CIA
The IRS
Homeland Security
All public schools
The Industrial Military Complex (affects ALL government agencies
associated with war making materials and technologies)
The Welfare System
Close ALL US bases in ALL foreign territories and bring
home ALL US military personnel (government and private
civilian contractors)
he wants to make ALL drugs LEGAL (including heroin, coc aine, etc..)
the free trade he proposes has already got an endorsement from
the Bunny Ranch (Brothel) which has contributed to and endorses
Paul for president.

WHAT ???

Do you realize that if he were to get his way that would
mean close to a million people unemployed overnight.
What would that do to our economy within itself ???

Yep, we would have our freedom back at the expense
of a 30% national unemployment rate.

Oh and guess what, there will be no unemployment compensation
or Social Security since no taxes will be taken to fend those projects.
Just dump a million federal employees on the street with nothing is quite
a dramatic or should I say radical view of how to fix our
national problems.

I think RP's agenda is on the extreme side as well as his views
and I think if RP was elected we would have an even bigger
problem than what we have now. It would be fine if he had
a delayed disassembly of these programs, but he doesn't mention
anything delayed over time to ween us off of the spending. It
appears he wants drastic changes too fast for the economy
to compensate those changes. Just think what would happen
to Wall Street if a million federal employees got laid off
overnight. Can somebody say CRASH of 29. Gas at $20 a gallon.
Who could afford to drive ???

I think RP has some good ideas but I think his radical
implementation of those views are gonna be downright
disastrous if he is elected. He is running on the Revolution
platform, but I think it resembles more of a great depression
platform. I don't think I have ever seen or heard of a more
radical platform running for president. In my opinion there is
a difference between downsizing and annihilation of the federal
government. What he is suggesting is economical suicide. You rob
Peter to pay Paul (no pun intended) I don't think America can
withstand a Ron Paul presidency else we go back to throwing
rocks and spears at our enemies. Yes I want my rights back
as well as our constitution, but I think his agenda is just to radical
to attain it.

edited: forgot to mention the IRS
