More Catholics Than Anglicans In Church (UK)

news.sky.com

Roman Catholic churchgoers outnumber Anglicans in the UK for the first time since the Reformation, a study has shown - just a day after Tony Blair announced his conversion to the faith.

The large amount of EU nationals from Eastern Europe who have migrated to the UK in recent years has swelled the numbers attending masses across the country.

According to the organisation Christian Research, this now makes the Roman Catholic mass the most popular form of Christian worship in the country.

So does this mean that Catholicism is now the main religious group in the UK?
This certainly brings to light concerning how much the large influx in immigration is changing the structure of things over here.
I find this a strange coincidence, coming only a day after Blair made his conversion public. Did he plan this timing, just before this announcement, for greater public support/less backlash? (not that it matters quite as much now) Hmm...
