In addition to the benign organisms mentioned, yes. I've know people who contracted Giardia and Shigella . It truly sucked to be them. I, myself, got Lyme Disease from a tick bite and it put me in a world o' hurt.

Yes. For my Masters' in Biomedical Engineering I had to take courses in the medical school, and one of them was parisitology.

The information on that site is an ad. They're trying to get you to buy products for conditions and problems that you really don't have (you'd know it if you had a tapeworm.)
