BREMERTON, Wash. - Art Conrad has an issue with the commercialism of Christmas, and his protest has gone way beyond just shunning the malls or turning off his television. The Bremerton resident nailed Santa Claus to a 15-foot crucifix in front of his house.

Wow, that takes some mighty boughs, if ya know what I mean. I can't tell where this is going to go here at ATS, but, I applaud the guy for not bowing down to political correctness. I'd, personally, like to be this bold myself, though, I'd choose a different subject myself.

You may not get many post here because is not on the conspiracies in religion forum actually it should have been there.

People doesn't get it sometimes that Christmas when it comes commercialism is nothing that the biggest spending season of the year.

This man can put on that Santa suit and nail himself to the cross and nobody is going to care.

But put on a pagan yule wreath next to him and the cross and he will get all the media attention he needs.

Sometimes this articles just make me laugh my hart out when it comes to how our nation has been programed to see the christmas in this corporate ruled world of modern days.

i just heard this on rush. all of the guys ghristmas cards have that same immage on it with the words " santa died for your master card", this guy is ok in my book.

The Capitalist focus on Christmas makes me ill.
The way people act around Christmas (stressed out and grouchy) annoys me.
The fact that it's a bunch of utter BS (Christ was NOT born on the 25th, the Christmas tree is a Pagan icon, and giving useless crap to people you don't like does NOT validate your existence).

Give me a warm fire, a comfortable place, a good feast, some nice spirits, and as many friends and family members as can be gathered.
That makes for a happy holiday.

I'm gonna be glad when it's done.
I never say "Merry Christmas" and I'm really getting sick of people being offended by that.

thats why i am thankfull when it comes to my religous holidays its not about comodtities something that most christians seem to have forgotton about their faith,

He did a great job yes christmas just seems to be a money making for business & banks .

When it comes to business in American Christmas is been very well protected because its incredible financial value.

Somebody really needs to get their holidays straight.

Well, I agree that Christmas has lost it's meaning a bit to the vise that is personal materialism. It has been made to serve the interests of buyers (and, of course, sellers) and the actual sentiment that it represents the gifts the Magi brought to the Baby Jesus...is gone.
But I gotta say, nailing a Santa to a cross??? A little pretentious, huh? Ya couldn't nail up the Mac guy? The Geico gecko? Rachel Ray with a few of her one pound bags of Dunkin Donuts coffee? It HAD to be Santa?

At least he's making a statement and isn't simply confused.

When WWII was over and the United States went into Japan, the Japanese heard of this Christmas Holiday and when it came around, they were selling crosses, with Santa nailed upon them. True story.

Anyway, It warms the cockles of my heart to hear stories of how just alive some of us still are.
