This is an interesting ghost story, a revolutionary war era tale about a woman named Phyllis Parker who is said to haunt the Old Bernardsville NJ library.

A local man Nelson Jecas with the help of a dozen people will hunt for Phyllis on January 5 2008.

Bernardsville hunter searches for local ghost

BERNARDSVILLE — A ghost hunter will stay up all night next month attempting to meet Phyllis Parker, who reportedly haunts the old Bernardsville Library.

Nelson Jecas, of Bernardsville, said he first learned about ghosts 12 years ago when he lived in a North Plainfield home that he said was haunted. There, he saw a smoke-colored figure of a woman in his home, which was once a hospital. He now teaches a three-week ghost hunting class through The Jointure, a Raritan Borough-based community education program.

Some history of the Bernardsville library ghost can be found here:

The Old Bernardsville Library

One of the most famous “haunted” places in New Jersey is the building that was once the Bernardsville Library. It has been studied nationwide by ghost hunters, parapsychologists and curious residents. The structure itself dates back to the 1700s when it was originally a tavern

While we wait for the results next year, I found a two part show entitled Haunted New Jersey on youtube which was there first vidcast and the subject was the Bernardsville Library where they did there own analysis of the library.
