No, people ignore you because you act like a child who isn't getting enough attention. The ignore button is our only real recourse. It is as close as we can come to putting you in your naughty chair.

There is a big difference between civil discourse and childish behaviour.

No one is talking about eliminating the federal government? Uh you might want to go back and read through this whole thread.

Once again if Ron Paul was president he wouldn't have that power. Please try reading the Constitution okay? You might want to check that document out to see what powers the president actually has available to him with that whole checks and balance thing the founding fathers put in place.

I’m not sure what power you’re referring too, but you are probably right, the state would have that power. No one is talking about eliminating the federal government, if that’s what you mean, just restoring it.

I must enjoy testing my patience though. I have resisted the urge to ignore. It is kind of like watching a train wreck. I just can't bring myself to look away yet.

Do what I did and slap that ALERT button. Ranting off-topic and provoking arguments with a bad-attitude is only entertaining for the first page and a half. Like I said, this could have been a good thread, 4 pages ago. Now it's getting on 6.

Oh, this is a GOOD thread.
Trust me on that.

This day keeps getting more unbelievable! For those of you who might not know yet, today is quickly turning into a spectacular fundraising day for Ron Paul. You've already raised over $3.6 million since midnight!

Currently, I am reading a book about the Dollar collapse, in which government intervention is discussed as well. While reading your post one specific quote from this book came to my mind:

When asked to offer a toast at the annual dinner of the New York Press Club in 1953, John Swinton, the editor-in-chief of The New York Times, a man revered by his peers as the dean of his profession, rose to the occasion by finding the courage to make the following confession.

"There is no such thing as an independent press in America at this date of the world’s history. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print.

"I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinion out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.

"The business of the journalist is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it, and what folly is this toasting an independent press?

"We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks; they pull the strings, and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities, and our lives are all the property of other men.

"We are intellectual prostitutes."

Than you might want to do some more homework on the person you think you know.
