Hi All,
How is it that it only costs roughly 75 cents to recharge an entire bank of batteries overnight? At least thats what I've read.

Two things come to mind. First, that bank of batteries does not have the energy equivalent of a tank full of gasoline, and it is also cheaper to create power in bulk at the power plant than to create it in an internal combustion engine.
