UNITED NATIONS, Dec 14 (Reuters) - World powers reached a compromise on Friday to allow representatives of Kosovo to speak at a U.N. Security Council meeting next week on the future of the breakaway Serbian province.

Kosovo Albanians have said they plan to declare independence in the coming months despite fierce opposition from Serbia, backed by its historic ally Russia, which has blocked Security Council action on Kosovo in the past.

this bothers me. the UN the EU they all know that kosovo is going to lead to a possible international incident. but yet they dont want to seem weak to russia so they continue to ignor russias warnings. this is the problem with a international governing body. you have people making judgements about countries that arent any where near them they dont know what the conditions on the ground are like there but yet they can sure as hell make a descision that will effect that country and every country around it. politics goes too far and this is a case of that countries would rather save face then save lives.
