Open Letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations

Dec. 13, 2007

His Excellency Ban Ki-Moon

Secretary-General, United Nations

New York, N.Y.

Dear Mr. Secretary-General,

Re: UN climate conference taking the World in entirely the wrong direction

It is not possible to stop climate change, a natural phenomenon that has affected humanity through the ages. Geological, archaeological, oral and written histories all attest to the dramatic challenges posed to past societies from unanticip

Well, it seems that everybody is jumping on this in an effort to stop a global "green" tax.

Earlier we had the pope, now an open letter from a LOT of scientists.
www.nationalpost.com...

Will the UN listen?
Will any of the governments involved?
or is this proposed tax just another way to pick our pockets of our hard earned, "for the good of the planet"

Something is beginning to smell very fishy about all this.

We already know we never get told the whole story by governments or media - just how far are they willing to go?

Aye, the denial machine is in overdrive at the moment.

It's always good to have a complete list of crackpots 'sceptics'. I see all the usual suspects have been paraded. I wouldn't call many of them prominent, well, they are in the case that many are the usual suspects.

The best bit is this:

Lubos Motl, PhD, Physicist, former Harvard string theorist, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic

What a clown. 'Former' Harvard string theorist, heh. Isn't his current post important enough...

And the list has numerous people like Motl - non-climatologists. Along with a confusion of emeritus professors, this brings Kuhn to mind, with the old guard slowly dying off as the new paradigm takes firm hold.

Also, Budski, the pope said nothing that would suggest his position is close to these guys. Indeed, I read the infallible pope's speech and thought it was pretty much good stuff - ignoring all the god babble, of course.
