Can I point out that DailyKos has been accused to be "in bed" with the feds, many in the conspiracy field feel (many groups/individuals I know) accuse the site of being disinformation.

The crew—who were in all probability not government officials, I might add—was under the impression that the airport officials had been bribed and were going to clear them for landing, however, they arrived to the area after the bribed officials had left for the day, and they were denied landing clearance at Cancun. They attempted to land at a different airport and were denied clearance there as well, and eventually ran out of fuel while circling the area, presumably attempting to find a place to land.



While that may be the case, this event did take place, and Daily Kos is only mentioning it now, based on other people's research. It was in the mainstream media originally, several months ago—there are photos and evidence of the connections. I've spent a fair amount of time researching both N987SA and N900SA, and, while not everything claimed in some of the articles posted in this thread is true, a great deal of it is, and can be supported by documentation from the FAA and other reputable sources.

Now what I'm concerned about is why the flight crew allowed the aircraft to run out of fuel instead of landing anyway.

You either get into a fair bit of trouble, or you loose a multimillion dollar jet, lots of precious cocain, and a lot more trouble. I don't get it.

you are more concerned about a government jet running out of fuel?---------------i guess you trust our government a lot more than i do ?--------some government agents get so sick of incompetent supervisors that after receiving our marching orders and we get out of earshot----the other guys start bad mouthing with the common self sex words------and then proceed to do what they want---------not what the supervisor ordered-----moral is very low----and not too many care anymore.its easy for me to see why a b52 would be loaded up with nuke tipped cruise missiles.

I've read here about a maximum of 6 tons of cocaine and 1 ton of Heroin down to 3.3 tons of coke and no heroin. I suspect it is all misinformation but the planes payload is 5,456 Lbs or about 2.7 tons.

Yet more proof of just how corrupt those in power are. Nearly all intelligence agencies CIA, MOSSAD, MI6, ISI, KGB are probably involved in money laundering and drug smuggling. Always suspected that those CIA torture flights were being used to smuggle drugs out of Afghanistan and nodoubt they'll continue to get away with it.
