3) "We have to defend ourselves, and the war on terrorism is the only way to do that."

4) "Since September 11, George Bush has shown strong leaderships skills."

This covers our domestic Right Wing to a tee, but how come foreign posters seem so affected by the same herd formula?

BT, what I found behind your link is pretty funny !

An exemple ?

Point 5.

" Europeans don't agree with us because we're wrong. They understand the geopolitical motivations behind this war, as their press isn't as censored ".

What can I say ? Yes, I know. MWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I don't know what's the most funny part.

1) - Europeans don't agree with us because we're wrong.

2) - They understand the geopolitical motivations behind this war

3) - as their press isn't as censored

Answers :

1) Europeans don't agree with the USA ONLY for some reasons.

- USA interest and EU interest are not the same.
- Many EU leaders are socialists.
- They don't like the USA,
- They don't have the same power,
- They are jealous from the USA,
- They have to many arabs/muslims who are living in the EU and they are scare to death from them.

2) Yeah, sure. They understand that they are NOTHING and the USA are EVERYTHING !

3) This statement is so stupid that I don't know what can I say.

Both sides are brainwashed. In fact all people on this planet are brainwashed in some way or another.
Doesn't mean anything bad...

great copy-n-paste from a "liberal" website, BT.

Liberal brainwashing:
1) Saddam and Castro are decent men they really care for their people! Anyone catch the Walters interview with Castro? Fidel seems so wonderful I just dont understand why Cubans risk their lives to come over to the US.
2) I have faith in our system of checks and balances to adequately 'give me' my government entitlements. We need more government and more taxes!
3) We don't have to defend ourselves - because there is no terrorist threat out there - and if there is 'we just need to understand them better' - maybe Hamas just needs hugs. And there are much more scarier things out there, Al Gore say the combustion engine is a bigger threat anyway, so lets just worry about that. Besides didnt Bill Clinton get rid of all those terrorists when he bombed the aspirin factory the terrorists were hiding in?
4) Since September 11, George Bush has shown strong leaderships skills - after all, our 'real' president Al Gore said Bush was his commander in chief!
5) I wish we were more like the Europeans - work is soo stressful that I would rather go on European type welfare and make almost as much as I do working like in Sweden. That's so much better and where does all the money come from anyway?
6) We had much better foreign policy pros under Clinton. Albright was such a nice lady. And I don't care that they didn't take the Sudan up on their offer to get UBL - after all the CIA flew remote control planes into the WTC and UBL is really a pleasant guy I am sure. In fact, the pros in the Clinton admin. were so good that while they were bombing Sudan and Afghanistan they didn't even need Gore, he was able to go on vacation at the time in Hawaii! You deserved it Al!
7) Bush is doing a terrible job on terror. Clinton did much, much better like that time he blew up an aspirin factory - that'll show those terrorists we mean business!
8) Bush administration 'let 9/11 happen' - after all there really aren't terrorists out there - in fact, I think the word terrorist is sort of like the boogie man probably made up by Fox News!
9) The media is so conservative! I dont care how many democratic operatives work at CNNABCCBS! I dont care that Dan Rather is a dem fundraiser favorite I dont care that George Stephanopoulos worked for Clinton! The media is sooo conservative! And the success of Fox News must be a fabrication surely there are only a handful of conservatives out there? Dont we all think exactly like Barbara Striesand and Martin Sheen?
10) Saddam doesnt have weapons of mass destruction because he seems like a swell guy! And if he does, I am sure the 17 UN inspectors will be able to find them After all Iraq is ONLY the size of California! Go get em Hans you the man!

UniQue - What does conservatism have to do with the post or the Bush administration? Neither is applying anything remotely conservative. From economic to foreign to domestic policy, you can forget about using that label on Bush's actions....it doesn't apply.

U-P - and the massive protests are FOR the war!?! You mean the 100's of thousands of people were all socialist elected officials!?! How many damn folks in your parliaments over there anyway?

European leaders have quite succinctly labeled the war as a front for corporate imperialism, and members of their various house have spoken out as such, from very diverse party affiliations.

The US press had no major coverage on:

-Bin Ladens brother being in meetings with Bush Sr at the Carlye group around the time of the attacks

-The Taliban leaders being wined & dined in Texas

-The various oil interests that bore direct line history with Bush and other cabinet members, that were all vying for a piece of post war Afghanistan.....I got all that info from non-US news sources. Thinking that countries knee-jerk a reaction at the polar opposite because of jealousy is very overly simplistic.

Bobb - would be nice if you lapsed from your brainwashed state for a moment and handled the points, instead of the Limbaugh Talking Points Version of History!
I've shut down that bullcrap fantasy that you posted so many time that,.....oops! I keep forgetting who I'm talking to! "Repeat the lie, it will turn true, Repeat the lie it will turn true, repeat....."!

Yup, the article is hosted on Democraticunderground.com.......so what? I don't see any of the data that is pure conjecture nor do I see a mangled or overstated or uncheckable fact. My fellow Americans on the board of the Right Wing stripe need an immediate head-from-arse extractions.....it's not politics but America in the balance.

And U-P......Dude! You want to be American more than Eminem wants to be black! Geeezzz!

Bandit, I think you've spoken volumes in that small first sentence you wrote. We're all brainwashed and biased in one direction or another. Admitting the blindspots is the hard part.

Not true Boom...you haven't heard me rip Daschle/Gephardt as well as Lott/Bush? Look back, it's there. The sad part about any discussion like this is that the ones truly swallowing volumes to give Bush a legitimate perception, are the first ones to counter with the brainwashed too retort.
It's no ideological dogma on my part that has our economy in the toilet, our nation less safe or perpetual war being spoken of....it's the facts of his actions.

I don't mind BT. May be these 100.000 peoples were manipulated.
Bha, we are all manipulated anyway.

But the EU leaders can say what they want, I don't care ! I don't like them ( except may be 2 or 3 ) !

I'm deeply convinced that Westerns Nations & Westerners are in great danger, and if we don't do something, we will be all screwed.

"I'm deeply convinced that Westerns Nations & Westerners are in great danger, and if we don't do something, we will be all screwed."

That's because the western way of thinking violates what is propagated by practically all religions in the world. In fact Jesus himself said it.
"Do to others as you would like others to do to you."

"Dog eat dog" capitalism is incompatible with this...

As for brainwashing, see William One Sac's post here...

Once again that fundimental bug bear of ATS rears its ugly head.

Not agreeing with the right does NOT mean you agree with the left.

being against this war does NOT mean your against the US

Believing that gays should be allowed to marry doesn't also mean you think christianity should be removed from schools any more than believing gays shouldn't be allowed to marry means you think christianity should be top of the curriculum.

time and again on this board we hear the term "liberal" or "conservative" waved in the face of anyone who takes an opposing view to a point somone has made.

thats horsecrap

as the political compass should have taught us, none of us are liberals or conservatives, infact both terms don't even meen the same thing in our respective countrys.

we all occupy the gray areas between these paradigms where individual politics are defined not by some alliance to a strange hypothetical political spectrum but by individual issues, experiences and beliefs.

personaly, screw banning Tyler, lets ban the terms "liberal" and "conservative"

because personally anyone here who believes they are actually defined by these terms is so deluded they really shouldn't be engaging in discussion, they should be locked up.

Yes, I know. But me, I do to others like others do to me.

And Lupe_101 4 President ? Why not ? But he's looking to much centrist ( nothing personal lupe
). A right-wing or left-wing president is better. Like this, you know ALLWAYS where you are going.

A centrist will have the left & the right on his back !

Lupe does not believe in labeling people left and right because it's way to simplistic and NAIVE. There are way more different kinds of people and ideas than just left and right.

Although the "C" & "L" words (is that palitable for all?) are just labels, they seem to be held onto by folks on both sides even when we can plainly see that 75 to 80% of the folks on this board who took the test, clearly fall in the centrist area.

I think that truly illustrates the dire need in this country for an alternative party that will allow good people to vote for good candidates. The problem is that most of the folks who want these jobs are lawyers who are taught to lie in first semester pre-law.

Will we ever see a viable 3rd party in the US? I doubt it but hope is very resilient.

that's first wise thing lupe has said yet

I agree USMC - I'd love to see some viable 3rd parties.
Seems though, we all want them until it comes time to vote though. There was a natural law candidate who just ran for governor in my state. But, he was a total oddball - heard him on the radio talking about feng shui and meditation?!?! I like the libertarian party and keep up w/ them. Reform party was viable but seemed to fall apart. maybe someday.

Exactly who, or what is the fundamental bug bear?

Yep, sure. But who started first ? That's the question !

I know what you mean TB795, I understand it. Many years ago, I was like you. But I saw that it was dangerous & suicidal.
