A Video Memory....The F 14 Tomcat Thread

Topic started on 12-12-2007 @ 08:07 AM by Mondogiwa

Fellow aviation friends,

As a kid, the one aircraft that totally blew my mind and stood for all the was ever cool was the F 14 Tomcat. In honor of that plane, I just thought a thread to show any newer videos or even stories for that matte, may be fun.

So, to start it off, I will submit one of jundreds I hope. Watch for the .9 mach high speed pass to climb with flare discharge...pretty neat.

Enjoy, Mondo

The UK never expressed any interest in purchasing the F-14. After you got rid of your real carriers, there was no need for it.

F-14 export history

Unless you have proof contrary?

I've no proof on hand, but it indeed is true. No need for it? Tell that to the Iranians. This was not to fulfill a carrier plane requirement. Much like the CF-18 it was to be operated from airbases.

How can it be true if there is no proof of it?

The UK was never interested in using the F-14 one way or another. They did not need it. Otherwise you would have had some kind of mention in any of the Tomcat's history files.

Sorry dude, it never happened.
